I'm so puzzled and sad to see Cilantro get bad reviews on here!! I have been going here for MANY years - in fact, I had my first date with my husband there over 10 years ago and we eat here on average at least once a month. I have celiac disease and they've always taken it really seriously. I've never had an issue with getting sick after a visit to Cilantro. I really like the sushi and the Pad Kee Mao!

We were so disappointed in our visit. I called a couple of days ahead to ask if they still offered gluten free options because it had been a couple of years since we had been there. Both my husband and my adult daughter have celiac disease and we had a lovely experience there about 3 years ago pre covid. The person on the phone told me absolutely, they still have a gluten free menu. We made reservations and went a couple of days later. Then when we were there was asked the waitress about gluten free options and she said we have a veggie roll, that is vegetarian. We tried to have a conversation with her about it and she got very rude. I told her when I called I was told they had a gluten free menu and she said “well I’ll go get it for you” in a lovely snotty voice. At that point my daughter was in tears and we had no confidence in eating there. We paid for our cocktails and left. So very disappointed especially since I called ahead. Then to make things worse the waitress was so rude right away when we asked about it. It’s hard enough to venture out to restaurants as it is, we don’t need added trauma!

I’ve eaten here three times. My wife many many times. My first two times were great experiences. I have gluten sensitivities and my wife can’t have sugar, both due to medical issues. We arrived on our motorcycles during a weeknight dressed in nice regular clothes but we did walk in with our helmets. Tho there were only 10-12 people in restaurant the hostess seated us in the very rear corner of the back room. The server was a sweet young lady who chatted with us for a few minutes before we ordered. Since we’d been there before and had favorites that we’d eaten only a month prior that were safe for our dietary limitations we ordered as soon as she came to the table instead of looking at menus. After a few minutes she came back and said that they couldn’t serve us anything other than our drinks because they didn’t have gluten free and sugar free options. She looked uncomfortable and was super nice and apologetic. We nicely explained we’d eaten there before and they could accommodate us. She went back and then a manager came back with her. The manager was rude and told us she’d comp my soda and my wife’s tea but that they couldn’t serve us. We left disappointed because it was a date night and we’d eaten there before. We both love sushi and the fried tofu as well as other menu items.

Our family of 5 is all gluten free. I am super sensitive. We eat here all of the time and have never gotten sick. My favorite restaurant, not just for Asian food.

I thought the food was great here and felt safe with their gluten free options. As an aside I was impressed with how they handled someone in our party who found out she couldn't handle the spice level in their lowest option. They actually recooked a meal for her which I thought was very nice of them. I would absolutely recommend this great place!
