had the hickory burger. very tasty. GF bun. asked about cross contamination and they were very well informed. based on other reviews i hope i don't have a reaction.
Beware that the gluten free pasta is not really gluten free because they cook all of their pastas, regular and gluten free, in the same pot of water. The manager offered to do a fresh pot of water for me after I had already ordered something else.
I had a terrible reaction after ordering off the GF menu. The kitchen manager swore they deep clean the grill before making GF orders. There's not a dedicated GF space. I assume my reaction was due to cross contamination issues.
I had the California Chicken Quesadillas. They were very good. When you order from the gfree menu, MAKE SURE you tell them you are ordering gfree. I told my waiter that I was. My fiancee had the menu flipped to that page and ordered off of it but didn't specify gluten free. When they brought his salad it had croutons all mixed up in it and his steak we later found out was not the gluten free version. He also brought us bread which we couldn't eat and a regular dessert menu that was not gluten free. When our order came we asked him if our food was gluten free. He said everything here is gluten free. In the end, we figured out he was just talking about my dish. Since they brought us bread to eat and a dessert menu, it doesn't seem like they are well informed about what gluten free means so make sure they know that you are ordering gluten free and what that means.
horrible. they have a gf menu, and the waitress assured me that the manager would be handling everything, but I still got sick. when I was eating the salad, there was an obvious taste of part of a crouton. I think they had them on there and picked them off. ended up getting a bunch of mouth sores and took a week to feel okay again.
I ordered the gluten free pasta dish with mushrooms, which included GF penne noodles. Halfway through my plate I found some regular wheat macaroni in the dish. The manager then informed me when I questioned him that they use the same pots with the same boiling water in it for regular and GF pasta, so every single GF noodle that comes out of that kitchen is contaminated. I had my entire ticket comped and I will not return.
Have a menu but the staff is clueless
The wait staff was attentive and accommodating. The kitchen manager came out to assure me that he'd done a thorough cleansing of the prep area and was doing his best to make it safe. So very impressed with their care here. I had the barbecue chicken sandwich and it was delicious comfort food. My husband and child (non-celiac) loved their food, as well. This is quite a distance from our home but we will definitely come back. The gf menu had a selection of choices I seldom see. I am determined to eat my way through this menu!
let me start by saying the service was pretty good. the food on the other hand wasn't. I ordered a pasta that had bacon in it and I asked for it to be removed they don't tell me that they can't take it out because it is in the sauce till I am supposed to get it. so I just said forget it I will just stick to the house salad that I had, which had wilted lettuce. we were getting another gf pasta anyways. so we waited and when that finally came out it had 3 big tortalinni in it so I right away asked the waiter and he said he was pretty sure it was gf but it he would check. so he comes back and says that the tortalinni was NOT GF but everything else was. I told him I still can't eat it I will get extremely sick because you can't mix wheat with a GF meal. so I didn't eat any of it. then after a few min I remember that is was supposed to be gf penne pasta but the pasta was bow tie. I personally have never seen GF bow tie pasta. so long story short I will NOT BE returning. they need some serious training in GF or something.
I've been to this location many, many times. The food is usually great, the staff is friendly, and we've not had issues with cross contamination. Definitely would recommend this location to others. Its a far cry from the issues my wife and I had at the Tempe location.
Claim Jumper has a GF menu, but waitress and staff were not understanding on what it means. Ordered a GF pasta dish. Mentioned I did not want cheese, they tried to make regular pasta dish, but due to cheese had issues. Ultimately had a dinner salad. :(
Ally took care of me here. Stopped by for lunch and went to order fries. She took extra care to let me know that they are breaded before keying in the order; saving me a lot of pain later. Yummy food with a good selection at a decent price. A must go if you are downtown!
The gluten free menu was limited, but our waiter was excellent. I had the blackened chicken stuffed potato which was great. I can't eat dairy either, so they were careful not to put cheese on it. I have to put it as a non celiac friendly place because there is a risk of cross contamination, but I haven't had symptoms there yet.
They have a GF menu but after three failed meals I'm done with them. I notified the server every time of my allergy, they just aren't informed and don't double check the food. First it was a salad that came out with bread on top of it. Then a baked potato that had Alfredo sauce (not GF) that shouldn't have been on there. The last time I got a steak with seemed veggies and there was pasta noodles on my plate! That's not even part of the meal... the server explained the veggies get cooked in the same pot as the pasta. Not a safe place for Celiacs. I ended up not eating and they charged us for the meal anyway it took a lot of talking to get it taken off.
Had the ribs with 2 sides of veggies because they didn't offer much in the way of dairy & gf sides. Tried to order baked potato with olive oil instead of butter, but they didn't have it. Ribs were tasty, but had hardly any meat on them. Went home hungry, but didn't seem to have any negative reaction to the food. Verdict: good place to keep rest of non gf & non df party happy while having a safe, not so fulfilling dining experience. If just gf and no fret about dairy, would be more doable.
Food was fine, the wait was not! We arrived about 7:20 on a Thursday eve. Was told the wait was about 20 min for 2, which was about right. Didn't get food until 8:30, so a bit slow. The GF menu is pretty good, more meat than chicken, seafood and vegetarian. I tried the chicken quesadilla which is on corn tortilla. It was kind of crispy which I didn't expect. There was a good amount of chicken, although it could have had more beans or seasoning inside. I added the salsa and it worked. I didn't see any GF desserts. Server disappeared after the first bite, had to wait for the bill. Left at 9:00. Overall, food was decent, service slow, whether it was the kitchen or server, not sure. One toilet stall out of tp.
Decent GF menu. Unlike most places the manager handled my meal ensuring safety. Tasty LARGE portions! The rest of my party was quite happy as well. All around great dining experience.
I went into this with low expectations and was still disappointed. Wait Staff was not knowledgeable at all about ingredients or menu, except to say that the GF menu was several years old and did not reflect the current restaurant menu. Food was ok. Better than Black Angus, a step below Outback.
I only gave a one because it would not let me give a negative number or a zero. I a m a celiac...extremely sensitive. I order very carefully anytime we eat out, which is not often. We happened to be in Henderson and chose this establishment. Our waiter was awesome. But my meal came out with the rice pilaf all over my food...totally contaminated the whole plate. I had to wait for them to cook a new lobster and it was raw in the center. Definitely not worth the money!!!
This place has AMAZING food and you get a lot for the price BUT the reason I have them a 2 star review is because they cannot guarantee there will be NO cross contamination, says it right on their menu, so with my daughter having celiac it was not a good place for us to go, but for anyone just doing a gluten free diet without an allergy, highly recommend this place!!
I'm not 100% sure this made me sick since I didn't have an immediate reaction but awoke the next day sick, but I wouldn't be surprised if the "gluten-free" quesadillas were the culprit. What should have tipped me off was what the waitress said when she brought out the plate: "Be careful of the salsa ranch. They made the plate gluten-free but still put the salsa. I'll be right back with regular salsa." The menu said nothing about not getting the salsa ranch. To top it off, the service was horrible, and a couple other people in our party of eight found their dishes lacking. I don't even want to try eating there again. My dogs got my leftovers.
