Our play finished earlier than we expected, so we had 45 minutes before our dinner reservation, so we went to their bar, Nucky’s, downstairs. Service was extremely slow: our party of seven didn’t get our drinks for almost 40 minutes! So, while some of us were trying to get the bill, a couple of us went up to honor our reservation. I had called ahead, since the menu isn’t marked for anything, and was told I could ask our server. So, I did, and he told me my four or so choices. He double-checked when I asked that the salmon is cooked in its own pan. A different person came into the little room we were in with one other table, and she didn’t even know which table the plates were meant for. After checking with our main server again, I accepted my plate, since it was exactly the same as my mother-in-law’s. Then my father noted thst his grilled asparagus tasted like the steak AND THE BREAD, so I went to the kitchen to ask if the asparagus is grilled on the same grill as the bread, which they confirmed, so I had to send back my plate with asparagus touching everything. They eventually brought me a new plate with only salmon and mashed potatoes, and I didn’t get glutened, but the whole experience was far too anxiety-causing and not worth it.
