Review of Cool Moose Cafe

The Moose has great self-serve coffee. And great food to boot so an ideal place to meet up with a friend for a time out during the day. Or especially take the family for breakfast given the lovely kid friendly breakfast menu. As far as GF goes, no GF bread for breakfast BUT they have corn tortillas you can get instead of that tasty looking biscuit and use creatively to make a taco out of the messy stuff on your plate. Lots of great omelette options, the breakfast potatoes are fantastic, and the hash works. The ambience of this Riverside cafe with high ceilings and uneven walls and floor is charming. Limited but enough outdoor seating. Despite not being a dedicated facility and all the bread, pancakes and the like flying around in the kitchen we haven’t had a problem with the food and have been many times. They don’t take reservations. Showing up at peak breakfast usually equates to a wait. They have a new in-store food self ordering system which makes it harder to chat about the GF side of things with a waiter/waitress but maybe that’s just us. Overall sweet little non-chain memorable spot.
