my husband and I went to enjoy a anniversary dinner out. we were seated at a two-seater table near the glass window that looks across into the kitchen. while watching the staff in the kitchen prepare our meal we noticed the owner enter into the kitchen. He picked up a spoon and tasted the mashed potatoes. he then used the same spoon and again ate more mashed potatoes. it was seriously disgusting. are sweet waitress took the food back after we informed her of what we had seen and changed out my husband's potatoes for something else. the owner left within a few minutes of the potato incident so we didn't have a chance to discuss anything with him. the manager came over and spoke with us as our waitress they apologize profusely and we're so embarrassed. the manager left to discuss with the owner over the telephone of what could be done to reconcile the incident. he returned to our table super embarrassed and informed us that the owner stated there was nothing he was going to do to fix his grievous error. my husband and I were shocked as expensive as it is to eat at this restaurant you don't expect to see the owner do something so obviously wrong let alone not be willing to own up to his mistakes and leave his staff to do his dirty work. I want to say that our waitress and the manager we spoke with as well as the other kitchen staff that we could see from our seat we're awesome the food we were given was great and there was no issue with service. The issue was solely on the owner and what we had witnessed. it was pretty shocking as to how it was handled by the owner. I would like to reiterate again that the staff was great and trying so hard to fix a mistake that wasn't theirs to fix. I truly hope the owner learns from this experience and that he realizes that the way he has his kitchen set up guests have a bird's eye view of what is going on inside of the kitchen. we could clearly see him tasting things and eating a feast in the kitchen while his chef prepared the food. I hope he realizes that his customers and the guests that eat at his restaurant or who pay the bills to keep his restaurant going. personally I think he needs to become a little more humble and realize the importance of the customers that he has. If you choose to eat at this restaurant be sure and ask for a window seat so you can make sure that your food isn't treated the same as ours was.

I have celiac and I’m extremely sensitive. We eat here all the time; food is awesome and I’ve NEVER gotten sick

Large variety, delicious food. Can eat almost anything there other than the flatbread. Knowledgeable staff all around. My favorite choice in the city!

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about what had dairy and what didn’t( I’m dairy free in addition to gluten free). The food was delightful, we cleaned every plate. Most importantly for me, I left full. Many times when a restaurant is more expensive, the portions are unnecessarily small. These portions were perfect!! Will definitely be returning.

this was the best food we have ever eaten in Fredericksburg! they have a large selection of gluten free so I didn't have a problem finding something to eat and even their fantastic desserts were gluten free. didn't have to settle for the typical flourless chocolate cake. we will definitely eat here again and bring our family and friends!

One of the best meals I've ever had (including before I was GF). Lovely setting with delicious, gourmet food. We had a fixed price dinner (discounted Tuesday-Thursday) and loved every bite. I'd say 3/4 of the menu is gluten free, including many dessert options & the best crab soup I've ever eaten! Highly recommended.
