I LOVE their food, as a vegan, but sadly, the gluten thereof is hit or miss and I can't take the risk. If you have a "light sensitivity", as I've heard some local hippie-naturopath-types say they have, you'll be fine, but celiac or severe intolerance and it's hit or miss. I've ordered a gluten free Eugenewich to go here three times and been glutened twice (explanation follows). -- The first time I ordered a gluten free sandwich here, I hadn't received my blood work/GI appointment yet but was gluten-wary and ordered the Eugenewich gluten free, as I'd had the regular one a while ago and loved it. At this point I was still going through regular intestinal hell, so I didn't really notice the intestinal effects, but I asked for a gluten free sandwich and they gave me the regular patty and onions, only in a gluten free bun. I wondered why I got violently ill the next day, but figured it was just random since I'd been sick for so long. I later realized that the sandwich was not gluten free, because I went back a couple weeks later to order a specifically GF sandwich and received one that was actually, genuinely gluten free (to the best of my knowledge). When I got that one, and it had a different breading on the patty and non-breaded onions on a gluten free bun, I realized the one I'd gotten previously wasn't actually gluten free. I'm not sure if the sauces contain gluten or not, but I didn't feel terrible after eating the second sandwich and figured I was set. So I ordered another one a week or two later, since I liked it so much before finding out about my health. I specified gluten free for this one, very, very specifically. I asked for it all to be gluten free, not just the bun, and repeated gluten free at the end of my order just to be sure. I went to go pick up the sandwich, and I checked it before I left, and the onions looked breaded. So, I went to the counter and asked if it was indeed gluten free, because the onions were breaded, and did they make a gluten free breading or a mistake? I was really hesitant to ask because I didn't want to be a pain, but I didn't want to get sick, either, and I was scared of the breading. The server (I don't know their name) was visibly confused by my question and just said, "Ummm, it's gluten free? yeah... It's gluten free... Yeah." I didn't want to push it and confuse him further and/or be annoying, so I figured the server knew best and went on my way, nervously trying a couple of the breaded onion strings. I waited half an hour after eating them so I could see if I got violently sick, and I didn't feel terrible, so I took a couple hearty bites. I was less than half of the sandwich down when I got that familiar, fabulous feeling of being about to explode. I spent the next few days in severe abdominal pain with lots of stomach upset and general exhaustion and brain fogginess, and felt various less-severe repercussions for over a week. Not the most pleasant, and since I was assured that this sandwich was gluten free when it was not, that's enough to keep me away. I'm really sad about it, too, because their food is amazing and if you don't have a proper medical condition, go there and love it.

Eat with freedom from gluten and dairy contamination. Years of meals without a single gluten or dairy issue has proven this facility to be both delicious and clean, even for my husband who is very sensitive (ppm sensitivity!) It's safe here. Eugenewiches are amazing. Crinkle fries and cornbread just like mama used to make. Mac n cheese, slaw, soups, desserts and a strawberry milkshake to knock your socks off. Breakfast/ brunch on the weekends include fried polenta squares you can eat without consequence! Sunday brunch only. Time to confirm still no contamination since 2012. Eat with safety

vegan Southern comfort food. very tasty with large servings and a very well marked menu. most of the staff are well informed. does NOT have dedicated kitchen space. I've eaten here many times for dinner with no problems, but my tolerance level is fairly high.
