I wasn’t super impressed by anything. The staff wasn’t very friendly or helpful. The food was medium. For the price I can find a decent steak for less just about anywhere else. Nothing special.

We traveled to CO for a wedding and my husband has Celiac disease. When talking with the staff (Ryan and Haylee) ahead of time, we agreed on an all gluten free menu to make it easier on the kitchen. Everyone raved about the food and my husband didn’t get sick! If we are ever back in the area we would definitely visit again for dinner.

I have been to Cowboy Star three times in the past year for various occasions. The first two trips were really good— we had good waiters and they listened to what I said so I felt safe, and didn’t get sick. I went last night and got really sick despite feeling safe. I told the waiter to clean the grill for my steak but I don’t think he fully registered it, and I don’t think it was done. Both of our ‘gluten free’ appetizers and side dishes (labeled on the menu) came in cast iron skillets and I think that’s how I got sick even though I didn’t eat very much of it because they came in that dish. I ate their gluten free bread which they assured me was safe because they don’t make their gluten bread in house. The manager has told me previously that they can’t guarantee that the fryer is dedicated, so I’ve never eaten fries there. Also not gluten related— they add horseradish to plain mashed potatoes and don’t advertise it so heads up if you don’t like horseradish!

Went to Colorado Springs for a couple days and took my wife here for a special night out on the town. I called for reservations and mentioned my wife was Gluten-free. I was assured that they take allergies very seriously and the do. They explained everything was prepared in a GF location and they changed gloves frequently to avoid cross contamination. Everyone from the host to the waiter confirmed and assured us they would take care when handling the food, all without even having to ask or tell them. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were very delicious. We can’t wait to come back for another special getaway.

First of all, even GF considerations aside, this is a great restaurant with a great atmosphere. Having visited there for the first time since being diagnosed with Celiac though, I was pleasantly surprised how much of their menu is listed as GF. When I mentioned to the server that I had celiac disease and had a question about a menu item, he was very knowledgeable about the precautions needed for celiac disease and reported that they take it very seriously there. He told me they would scour down the grill for my steak and even brought me a separate plate of gluten-free table bread. Great GF experience.

Amazing!! Everything I had was so good. Good service, great atmosphere as well. GF bread, kind of like a cornbread was really good. GF appetizers, several GF salads. Several dinner options, all steaks and sauce are GF. Lots of GF sides, and several desserts! I had the pineapple cake. They are very knowledgeable and I felt extremely safe eating there. Felt amazing when I left too. Highly recommend.

Nice place, very good service. They can accommodate GF. They do not have GF buns. They do have GF bread, however, it’s crumbly and not good for burgers or sandwiches. I was told they do NOT have a dedicated fryer.

I have eaten here a few times now and not gotten sick once. The staff takes precautions when they know you are Celiac and although the GF bread is not great it is soooo amazing that they have it and have GF sweets too.

If 10 stars were available, I wld give it 10. DELICIOUS food. AMAZING waitstaff. GF bread. They even accomodated my dairy allergy. Extensive wine list. Superb atmosphere. Pretty much the most perfect dining experience I've ever had. Hands down the best allergy friendly meal I've ever tasted.

Best meal out I’ve had in a while. Many good clearly-labeled GF menu selections to choose from. Gluten-free bread was served to me and my wife was offered regular rolls. Unlike most steak places, which often use flour to thicken their sauces, all of Cowboy’s sauces are gluten free. Thumbs up.
