Got served bread even after I requested it to not be there. Nothing is marked on menu and staff is NOT knowledgeable; it wasn't until I had a bite of brunswick stew and IDed it as having wheat flour by taste that I realized the servers aren't trained on allergen ingredients. I asked the server to confirm if wheat flour was in the stew (who tf even -does- that to brunswick stew, gross); it was. Honestly, my reaction was to just walk out before I caused more of a scene and leave my partner to handle it (and even tho all I could get down was cucumbers and tomatoes, a few bites of potato salad, and a smidge of sauerkraut, afaik no amends were offered to my partner. btw, mayo + balsamic vinegar is an abomination (but jfc I just wanted to eat -something-), but that's just personal taste and not a gluten-oriented critique lol.
No
Many gluten free items- server can tell you want you can eat. Alway good BBQ. I have eaten here many times.
Yes
Couldn’t eat sauces except vinegars butter was in both “real” Barbeque sauces. Meat is not smoked and they couldn’t cook my ribs with sauce. Collard greens were pretty bland. French fries aren’t gluten-free. I could cook ribs like these.
It’s nice that they offer GF beer, but the food isn’t very good. The menu is not marked as to what is GF.
Enjoyed a GF beer (Omission Lager) on the patio along with brisket, potato salad and sweet potato casserole. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Was nice to have so many options to choose from for sides! No GF desserts but the SP casserole hit those notes for me.
The staff was very knowledgeable of menu. All sauces & meats are gluten free. Slaw, potato salad, bacon beans, collard greens are gluten free. I had the BBQ chicken & it was very good. I tried the potato salad but it’s a little too sweet for my preference. My husband had the chopped pork & fries (he can eat gluten) & said it was very good. It’s a LOT of food so be prepared to take some home. Very nice to see so many options. Unfortunately they do not mark the menu so make sure they review it with you. One of the few times where there are more items gluten free than not 😊
