Great little family-owned place and very kind service! My girlfriend (not gluten free) got the Chicago Dog and I got the Beantown Dog with a gluten-free bun, and we shared a small order of fries. GF loved her hotdog, and mine was also delicious! The fries were almost too good to be gluten-free, but the owners assured us that the fries were safe—they’re the only thing that go into the fryer. Plus the owners have a gluten-free family member and said they make a point to be allergy-conscious. Awesome lunch experience—we will definitely be going back!
Forgot to mention: almost 5 hours later and no reaction!

There is not a dedicated area so I would imagine cross-contamination could beA concern but they are very knowledgeableAnd offered to wrap the gluten free bun for me if I wanted it separate.
I lived in Chicago for 15 years and almost fell over being able to get a Chicago style hot dog on a gluten-free bun as well as an Italian beef on a gluten-free bun.
