Cutesy Cupcakes

This place is no longer here. They had fairly good GF cupcakes, but I am not celiac.

I have not eaten here; prior to choosing to eat here I decided to contact them as they are a regular bakery with gluten free options. My low rating is not because their products are bad (I have not tried them), but because they are not even following the basic gluten free protocols to use separate dishes and separate space, especially for a place that regularly uses gluten containing flour.

Here is the response I received:

We make our gluten free cupcakes in the same kitchen/oven/equipment as our regular cupcakes, so our gluten free cupcakes are not recommended for people with celiac, but they should be okay for those who only have gluten sensitivty. We use clean dishes and utensils when making our gluten free cupcakes and we make them first before the regular cupcakes so there isn't flour dust in the air and we have designated containers to store them in that are only for gluten free cupcakes, but we can not guarantee that there won't be any cross contamination. Gluten and dairy stay away!! No offense they probably have wonderful cupcakes, but no where on the site does it say they DO NOT offer gluten and dairy free cupcakes. Why does almost everything gluten free has to have dairy?!?!

Didn't realize this location has opened, been going to the Scotts Valley location for years. Came for gf Cupcakes today but was told they don't have them this week due to issues with their gf flour. They do make the gf cupcakes at the Scotts Valley location, very careful about cross contamination, and deliver them to San Jose daily. I've never had a reaction or been sick from any of the cupcakes from Scotts Valley and anticipate will be ok from this location as well. Great customer service, ended up with regulars for some friends. Way better than Kara's! (This review will also be posted on Yelp)
