I ordered a gluten free shrimp burrito bowl, and they assured me they would change their gloves and be careful when making my bowl. The food was incredibly delicious, but I regrettably ended up getting pretty sick from cross contamination. I did find a piece of chicken in there, which indicated to me that the risk of cross contamination was probably really high with all the ingredients and burritos being made so closely together. Food is delicious, but I definitely think it’s a roll of the dice if you’re celiac.

Excellent food!! Ate here multiple times and never got sick! Menu items marked as gluten free. Mention you have celiac or an allergy when you order. Staff are excellent at accommodating and knowledgeable with what you can and cannot have (mostly flour tortillas). We tried all different meats and everything was super flavorful. Lots of food for the price too. Highly recommend if in the area.

All gf but the tortillas. It is a bit sketchy for cross-contamination since it's a very small shared space. I asked if they too precautions and changwd gloves, he said yes but I didn't witness it so I can't be sure. He did indicate Celiac on my order though. I did check it with my Nima and it was ok, and yummy. I can definitely see how people are leery of eating here, so use caution, and maybe try to go when not super crowded.

After eating a bowl here my son woke in the night with his telltale elbow rash. I should have followed my gut that the tiny workspace with all the people rushing around, made cross contamination likely. Supposedly the only thing gluten they have is flour tortillas but they have their hands all over them and then their hands are touching everything else.

The entire menu was gluten free except for the flour tortillas for burritos. Staff was knowledgeable about celiac and clearly had a protocol to reduce cross contact.
Had the fresh caught ahi tacos with siracha sour cream and was blown away! Even the tortilla chips are fried in a dedicated GF frier

Ate here multiple years in a row and multiple times this trip. Yes, there is a flour tortilla present (the only thing with gluten in entire place), but we had zero issue with cross contamination (consistently having corn tacos) and there are rice bowl options. Absolutely delicious, best Mexican I've had. There's a reason it's a long line all the time - fortunately it moves fast.

I took a look at the service line here and decided to skip it. Very chipotle-esque, the tortilla goes down the line and ingredients are added on. The tortilla was hanging over the edge of the topping bins and freaked me out.
I opted to go inside the grocery store next door and visit the poke stand.

We ate here twice during our stay and I did not get sick. We ordered the ahi tuna burrito bowls. The only item with gluten in it was the burrito tortilla and everything else is GF. The bowl was very delicious. I would recommend!

I got really sick after eating here. I have Celiac, and had only what was marked safe on their menu: Bowl with pork, brown rice, black beans, pico, sour cream, cheese. All naturally GF. I was very, very ill, more than typical cross contamination ill. Would definitely not recommend risking this place, the food is so-so and not worth it.

They had gluten free food. Items WITH gluten are indicated in yellow. Most are GF. However the staff had absolutely NO CLUE what gluten was and were rude. We were starving after a long boat ride and drive up to Waimea and it was a sad moment to get here and not be able to have a family member with celiac eat. We were so hungry so the rest of us (gf but not celiac) got the gf fish and pork tacos. They were delicious.

First, I’ll say we all loved the food. So good, and everyone wants to make this a regular stop. We have 5 Celiacs and I am the most sensitive, and, sorry to say I was sick. The other 4 (15-21) were all good. Could be what I ordered (1 beef 1 chicken (guac, pico, rice, black beans))… but pretty similar to the others. Kids will probably want it again if/when we come back to Kauai, but, I’ll probably skip.

Place is solid…get there before 630, it’s their busy time. Other than that, every thing tasted great and was safe to eat if celiac.

I cannot say enough about this place! It’s fantastic. We were staying near Wailua and drove to Poipu to eat at DaCrack three times during our trip (a one hour drive round trip). It’s the best food on the island. The people are so friendly and the only gluten item is the flour tortilla, which is clearly marked on the menu. Their chips and salsa are also gluten free. They wrote down “allergy/celiac” on our order to make sure it was kept safe. We never got sick. If you go to Kauai you HAVE to make sure you go at least once!

We stopped here on our first day in Kauai and it was a great decision. Almost the entire menu is GF and the staff was accommodating in changing to their gloves to prepare my order. I had an order of two tacos- one shrimp, one pork. I’d get two shrimp next time, they were delicious. My husband had the fish tacos and his were fantastic as well. There is a market next door with drinks and some GF foods you can grab while you wait. Like other places in Kauai, only outdoor seating on benches where you can find it.

Stayed in Koloa Landing and ate here three times and was never sick. They have bowls and tacos for those that are gluten free. Everything except the keiki quesadilla and burritos is gluten free. It’s also delicious, large portions and a great price. The only thing to watch if you’re very sensitive is cross contamination with hand scooped items (cheese and pico de gallo). The first two trips I got these toppings and wasn’t sick but the third I saw them double dipping after rolling burritos and stayed away.

My husband and I both enjoyed it! I have a small stomach ache this morning but I know it wasn’t gluten or I’d be much sicker. They had lots of gluten free options and it was easy to adjust them to dairy free as well. Also, it was less expensive than most places. I got the bowl with chicken, pinto beans, Mexican rice, and veggies. I ate it with some corn chips and would get it again.

Delicious and easy. Most things are gluten free. We ate here multiple times.
A lot of food for the price, great flavor and a lot of gf options. Good for picking up food when headed to the beach.

Love this hole in the wall. Menu is labeled well and delicious Mexican food that is very fresh. Almost entire menu (you order through window, no seats more to go place) is gluten free.
Yes
Ate here yesterday and the food was amazing. Flavorful and gluten free as long as you don’t get a flour tortilla. If there’s a line out front don’t let it scare you, moves fast.
Yes
The tacos and salsas are amazing!! The menu says that gluten is present only in wheat products (aka flour tortillas...)! Not sure about cross contamination but I’m a sensitive celiac who didn’t react. I got a shrimp taco and a pork taco— will definitely be back!
Yes
Tasty food, build your own taco or bowl style with lots of options for toppings. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful.
Yes
We ate here twice. I am super sensitive. 1st time was fine. Picked up some gluten on my 2nd time. Would not recommend for celiac. If you are just avoiding gluten and it doesn't make you sick, the food here is super tasty.
No
Amazing food! Large portion size. Chicken tacos were amazing and served with corn tortillas
Yes
So great, tons of choices, went twice!
This place is so good! It’s a to go place in a little strip mall and is easy to miss. They changed their gloves without me asking and someone come over to tell me what was GF/DF when ordering. Wish I had one of these at home!
Gluten free menu clearly marked. Great take out option.
Delicious!!! Long lines but worth the trip! We had the ahi, chick n and shrimp bo last with no problem! Awesome!
Yes
Busy place but the ordering was very simple and safe. Some of us had the chicken tacos, some had fish tacos it was safe and delicious! We have celiac, dairy free and very sensitive. We did not get sick and there are 4 of us.
Yes
Phenomenal food and service. Everything except flour tortillas and some keiki items are gluten free but enough options to be satisfied! We will be returning!
Great food and can easily be made gluten free. My teenage daughter has celiac and has symptoms that show up from cross contamination. She had no problems here!
Yes
Da Crack is Da Bomb! Literally a hole in the wall with delicious food. We had the fresh catch (ahi) in a bowl with rice and beans, etc. tacos might be safe, but we didn’t try.

Awesome food. Very sensitive traveler with us and she has eaten here multiple times without getting sick.

This place was tasty. They have corn tortilla shells for build your own tacos and they label the food items containing gluten. I would come back.
this place has a ton of options and clearly marks gluten free items. it's delicious! highly recommend the fish bowl with brown rice.
Great place! In a walkup window in a parking lot. If you go at 6pm be prepared to wait in line. Barbacoa tastes identical to Chipotle to me. Great food!
