DANGER- The Port Royal Chicken has fried garnishments on the top. Wait staff brought it to me and I returned it. Waitress came out and said chef wanted me to know it’s corn starch. It’s a shared fryer so that’s a no go. Other than that the food tasted good!! They have a flourless chocolate cake.

I ate here twice during my visit to mobile because of the convenience to my hotel. I had the Port Royal Chicken both times and it was excellent with no complications. Once carryout and once dine in.

The view and the atmosphere are excellent. However we had a strange experience there last night. We had reservations and they sat us at the bar. We ordered drinks, they arrived and we saw other people being seated that arrived after us. We told them we were trying to get to the ballet and were seated pretty soon. When I told our waitress that I had to eat gluten free, she was more focused on what I couldn't have than what I could. Most nice restaurants are willing to work with you. She never offered to ask the chef about an item. Our food arrived in less than 5 minutes after we ordered which made us think that it was already prepared. It was good but not amazing. For what you pay, I would rather go some place else. You can eat gluten free here but they are not very accommodating - or at least, that was my experience.
No
The food is excellent and they will take note of your allergies and cook in a separate pan. However, there is flour used in the only kitchen; therefore no way to ensure not being cross contaminated (especially on a very busy night). If your symptoms are not severe, the food is tasty and they will do what they can. But if you have zero tolerance, better eat somewhere else. During lunchtime, I was fine, but cross-contaminated at night. View is gorgeous, but it’s definitely risky to eat here.
