Perfect. The variety is a dream come true and the quality is top notch. This must be how non-Celiac people feel at every quality bakery. Wish I could go every month. Everything is gluten-free and the choices are unique (orange cake with cranberry-rosemary compote and a holiday blondie with white chocolate, cinnamon, bourbon, 5 Chinese spices…just to name two).

If you haven’t visited Defloured in Chicago, how dare you? They are a 100% dedicated gluten free bakery, they also offer some dairy free and vegan options. They are located in Andersonville which is extremely walkable with many small businesses and shops to explore. The London Fog cookie is my absolute favorite. Don’t skip the hats, they’re extremely cute and a great reminder to go back and buy more treats when your direct deposit hits. Love this place!

I can’t say enough about defloured, I go as often as I can. Got my birthday cake from them and all my friends commented on how delicious it was. They are starting to have more savory items, but definitely sweets focused. I’m obsessed with their cupcakes!!

Mind blowing GF (and many dairy free/vegan) desserts. Safe for celiac since it’s dedicated. My bf who isn’t GF absolutely loves this place too. I love the whoopie pies, cupcakes, cakes, the zucchini bread was UNREAL and my bf loves the oatmeal cream pies. Everything is moist and flavorful and fluffy. It’s truly a celiac’s dream.

Dress warm since they serve outside. They are all so wonderful and patient standing out in the cold while you order. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I wish they had a downtown location (you can some of their goods at La Columbe).

The BEST gluten free cakes and cupcakes! I get all my birthday and special event cakes from here. Even friends and family who are not gluten free love their cakes! I didn’t actually visit h the is bakery but picked up their Dairy Free Earl Grey biscuit from a coffee/tea house. It was super moist with great flavor. The only down side to this item was the primary ingredient was sugar, but on the up side wasn’t too sweet. Best baked, gluten-free item I’ve purchased.

I met the owner of the bakery, and she was such an incredible delight. She was excited to tell us about her bakery and to share her goods with us. We got a ton of of the gluten free baked goods, and everything was delicious. They had a pizza bread that was to die for. Would definitely suggest this place. She told me they also sell some items in certain grocery stores around Chicago, and I am excited to see what my local store offers—she said my Whole Foods and Sunset Foods carries stuff, so keep a look out in your area.

I can go all day on defloured, but simply put, this is the best gluten free dessert in Chicago (and maybe anywhere). They have gained a lot of popularity, but haven’t lost a step along the way.
