Very helpful. our waitress' mom is celiac so she could relate.
Waitress understood our needs. GF items are clearly marked. Make sure to specify celiac and that you need extra care. GF English muffin was good. Make sure to request it to new cooked on flattop and not in shared toasters. Request whole eggs when ordering omelette.
Denny's in most locations has added gluten-free options my personal favorite is the gluten-free create your own breakfast options and they will clean the grill before hand if you're able to wait long enough for them to do so and you ask them to it's not as quick as the average Denny's experience but it becomes safer for those that don't need it completely secured
A great place for anybody with celiacs. Breakfast, lunch and Dinner options. LOTS of food to choose from and is clearly marked out as GF on the menu. They even have ice cream and milkshakes. Michael was our waiter and you cannot get better service than what he provided.
Dennys now offers gluten free English muffins and their menu is marked on items that are gluten free with a GF symbol. I ended up getting breakfast, hash browns with eggs bacon and a GF English muffin. They state in their menu they are not dedicated GF. I am only intolerant, so I'm okay here. I'm not sure about someone who has celiac.
I've eaten here a few times and never had a problem. They have an extensive list of GF items. I just always tell them that I have a severe gluten allergy (I'm celiac) so I tell them to be extra careful to prevent cross-contamination when prepping my food and they seem to listen.
This restaurant has really stepped up in the last six months (in other words, disregard the Google reviews). Tell them you need completely gluten free and they clean the grill before cooking your food. GF items are listed on the regular menu. Breakfast is great. GF English muffins are not lip smacking but they are safely heated and a lovely gesture.
Found out that Denny's had gluten free items on their menu. I asked if they will clean grill and prepare in a different area to avoid cross contamination. They assured me that they would. We had a delicious omelet, hash browns and a gluten free english muffin. The manager knows what to do and a really nice waitress has a friend with celiac, so she knows how sick you can get if you eat gluten. We did not get ill. It was nice to eat breakfast out. We will definitely be going there again.
Both my daughter and I are gluten intolerant and we ate here twice on a recent trip to San Diego. We had Heard that Denny's had a new menu with gluten free items on it. The first time was the middle of the afternoon and our waiter was great. He was super careful, talked to the cooks and they made our eggs in a separate pan. We had bacon, eggs, hash browns and evena gluten free english muffin. If I was rating based solely on this I would give it 5 stars. We went back late at night several days later. Totally different experience. Our first waitress thought we had an allergy to glue and after letting us sit for 45 minutes told us she was not sure they could cook our food in a separate place. After I insisted they could because they did it a few days ago she went and got another waitress. This new waitress was great and became our advocate. She even caught a cross contamination issue with the english muffin before it got to me. We did not get sick thanks to her. So clearly, while there are items that could be safe on the menu it depends on the time of day and who you get. They are not knowledgeable as a whole staff.
