Don't waste your time! We walked in and asked for a gluten free listing or if they knew what was gluten free and they said the only thing we could have was the icecream! Funny because the other Dickeys have gluten free options. They clearly didn't want to take the time to help us!
Has a nice sized gluten free menu as well as other allergy menus. The staff member I worked with who was also the owner was very knowledgeable about gluten free needs. All meats and sauces were gluten free and was prepared on a new tray to prevent cross contamination. The sides also had a great selection of gluten free options. I highly recommend the baked potato casserole and the coleslaw.
Even though they have gluten free options, they aren't well-versed in them. They assured my husband that the sides he had picked were gluten free, but he arrived home with baked beans which were not gluten free according to the allergen information on the website. When he caked the store, the told him that they hadn't updateded the allergen sheet in their store since they opened a couple of years ago. They also made no effort to make it right, even though they knew before we purchased that I have Celiac disease.
Great place to get full and eat gluten free!
So a nice surprise. They don't have a gluten free menu, but are very helpful in answering questions that all of us celiac's suffers have. Let just say they don't know all the rules, but seem willing to try. They don't have a dedicated fryer, and I let them know that the food cooked in it would not be safe. They also don't have gluten free buns, but with BBQ you don't necessarily need one. The staff there was very friendly and willing to accommodate. But please make sure they got your request right, because even though I asked for no bun (and had a long conversation about it) they are trained to do their process a certain way, and was putting my food on a roll. I had to remind them that I couldn't have the roll and they would have to make it again. So far I haven't gotten sick yet (just ate there a couple of hours ago), so I would recommend giving it a try. Maybe the more gluten free requests they get the more they will offer and better informed they will get.
Yum! Yum! Yum! All the meat and many of the sides are gf. We got a pound of beef brisket and a half pound of honey ham with two medium sides and fed four of us for around $35. Kids eat free on Sundays. Free ice cream everyday (which wasn't all that great but it was gluten free). We will definitely be back!
Just beyond C6. I had pulled pork with BBQ sauce and green beans. HUGE servings! The staff was very helpful and encouraged me to read ingredients. They were unsure about some of the sides, but I appreciated their honesty. Would go back again!
When we ordered our meal all of the staff behind the counter change their gloves got out clean cutting boards clean knives and took a new meat out of the warming oven so there would not be any cross-contamination. I've never seen a restaurant take such care. Plus the food was awesome we've eaten there twice in the last week
I have eaten at one other Dickeys and they were very knowledgeable. This particular one...not so much. I had to ask for the manager, then I was successful at ordering safely. As I always say....be cautious and order carefully....to avoid cross contamination. The people fixing the food don't deal with the side affects....we celiacs do!
The staff at this location were amazing. Before I could even ask they were doing a glove change, getting a new cutting board and knife and it held that everything was delish!!! Online they have a great list of allergen info for reference but the staff was really knowledgeable.
The food was pretty good (not super warm) but tasty if you want some meat. What was not quite as good was the teenage boys at the counter rolling their eyes and sighing when I said I had a gluten allergy. I knew from this app the sauces and meats were fine, so I just needed to double check on two side dishes. I was pretty low maintenance to be shown their frustrations. I realize they just didn't know what to do, but it wasn't lots fun.
instead of Dickies, it should be called Fatties. the meat is so fatty it is inedible. the baked potato casserole was delicious though.
The baked potatoes are baked in their own foil. I also have a bovine protein allergy, and they got a new board for my turkey. A lot of their foods are fried or have the opportunity for cross contamination. If you're craving a safe baked potato, this is where you need to go!
They do not have a separate gluten-free menu, but on their website you can find nutritional information containing allergens as well. Staff was friendly, and advised me on what to eat to be safe. They cleaned and sanitized the cooking area, even though cross-contamination isn't a problem for me. Great food, decent prices. Will definitely be going back.
Staff was very helpful. Food was good....for fast food BBQ.
Wonderful service! A variety of gluten free options, even barbecue sauce. Owners have a family member with celiac and are very aware of cross contamination. They use clean utensils and will even pull new meat that hasn't been touched. Very friendly and happy to make sure everything is safe. Plus free ice cream!!!
This is one of our favorite restaurants to eat gluten free. We can enjoy almost everything on the menu, including ice cream. It's all delicious and we've never had a problem after eating here.
The staff is well informed on their gluten free menu, which is 90% of what they have. This is a great place for meat lovers. Very tasty.
They were unsure of GF items. Said they didn't have ingredient list for anything.
this is located at c6. I had the turkey, Cole slaw and green beans. no reactions. it was great!
excellent choices of gluten free bbq and sides
All the meats are GF and many of the side items. Most important all of their BBQ sauces are GF unlike some BBQ places. Website has good list of gluten free foods in the allergy section. Let them know you have a gluten allergy and they'll get a clean knife for cutting the meat (they normally use the same knife they cut the meat to cut bread to make sandwiches).
Great beef brisket and pulled pork! Most meals come with a roll so you have to tell them no roll otherwise they'll put in on the plate. All the BBQ sauces are GF too.
This is my new favorite place to eat!All the meats are GF. And all the sauces! Most of the side dishes are as well! It was so fun for me because my daughter and I, who have the wheat allergy ) were able to share food with all our family members, because the only gluten items they had were a little dinner roll.Fabulous taste! I love how there is so much to choose from that I can eat!!!You can see their GF menu online!
