Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken

LOVEEEE this place! My kids (who are not GF) both said their GF donuts are better than “regular” ones. And I agree. The texture is amazing! Personally I think the cinnamon sugar one blows the frosting ones out of the water - but I would say that about non-gf donuts too ;)

As a celiac, I feel safe here. I have been to two locations now and both times, the employees were very knowledgeable and the donuts were stored in a separate case. This time, I felt so safe that I ordered a gf donut without expressly stating that I had an “allergy”, and even still, they asked if it was an allergy, washed their hands, and then got my donut from the GF case. I really really appreciate that level of knowledge, care, and consistency in employees! 🤎

Always my favorite donuts. I literally dream about them all year until I get a chance to come back to Chicago once a year! THE BEST!!!!

They only had three flavors that were gf, but the two I had were fantastic! I was happy to get a donut that tasted so good!

Had 3 this morning and didn’t get sick! Not the best gluten free donuts I’ve ever had but definitely far from the worst. Very good. They assured me that GF donuts are fried separately and washed hands/changed gloves with none of the side eye other places sometimes give, lol. Overall a positive experience!!

Very light, fluffy donuts. Such a treat. I went the first day and they were sold out. I was told they sell out by 1pm on weekdays and 11am on weekends but if you order online, they save them for later pickup.

Great donut. Tastes like a regular donut. I talked with one of the employees in the back for about 5 minutes. They said that they are fried in separate fryers and then they have separate icing for the GF donuts. I'm not sure if they have changed something since the previous comment from that employee but I had no reaction!

I made an account just to comment here. I worked at Do Rite making donuts for a while. These donuts are not Celiac friendly, at all. Yes, the batter is gluten free. Yes, they are fried in a separate gluten free only fryer. But then they are glazed on the same glazer as all the other donuts. The glaze always has pieces/crumbs in it from all the other donuts, so the gluten free ones are getting covered in those crumbs when they glaze them. Then the gluten free donuts are dipped into the same icing as all the regular donuts, and then dipped into the same topping trays as all the regular donuts. So, again, they may start out gluten free, but they absolutely aren't anymore by the time they get to the display case for you to buy.

Really good experience the employee I interacted with was incredibly friendly and the donuts were really good, so happy to have a friend don't for the first time in years!

this was the first donut i had tasted in the 5 years of being a celiac, and boy it did not disappoint. so amazing and no gluten reaction! 10/10 would recommend. my mom (also a celiac) went back to get more for tomorrow’s breakfast. must try.

Dedicated fryer for their GF donuts - three delicious flavors, and always stocked with each. Getting a donut from here is our Sunday ritual, and I’ve never gotten sick once. Delicious and celiac safe!!!

Closest thing to real donuts that I've had. So so good. When we came in they had just come out, so they where still hot. Yum!! We got sugar, chocolate and glazed.
