They have a lot of gluten “friendly” options, but I’m not sure how safe they are with cross contamination. To be safe, I got a salmon salad with no cornbread. It came out with cornbread on it so it had to be remade. The salad was very good, but I’m unsure of the safety. I will update this review if I have a reaction. Not sure if they just picked off the cornbread and gave me the same salad.

The service was very lackluster. Took 15 minutes for us to get any service after being seated. Waited probably another 30 minutes to get our food. (3 sandwiches and 1 salad). Not sure how or why it took so long when everyone else in sight already had their food or was finished eating. We also had to beg for silverware and napkins (which should be standard when eating a salad and messy burgers!!) Not sure if I will return.

I came here for brunch and was surprised by the number of menu items marked GF. Even the omelettes which are sometimes mixed with pancake batter in certain restaurants (eek). Keep in mind the GF label on their menu doesn’t include heavy cross contamination like shared fryers, which is fine for the gluten intolerant/avoidant but confusing and unsafe for the celiac population. I ordered a pesto avocado omelette (labeled GF) with a side salad + ranch instead of potatoes. Nima tested the omelette with a dollop of ranch and gluten was found. Disappointed to say the least, but not surprised. Avoid this restaurant or be very careful when ordering.

I had really high hopes for this place after hearing about how consciousness they seemed to be. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. Since it was during Covid, there was a limited supply but we were assured everything was safe and prepared in a separate area specifically designated to be gluten free. After the first bite of my burger I could tell that a mistake had been made. I know the risks of eating at a restaurant, so I wasn't frantically upset, but I asked the waiter if he could get me more information on the bread. After going to check with the kitchen, they informed me that no one on staff knew what the ingredient information and everything was unlabeled so I would have to call back when the individual who did the ordering was there. The reason I gave them a one star review here is the food was prepared incorrectly (well done burger instead of rare), corn bread was served on our ribs (that was not gf), and the staff was uneducated about food allergies but the menu and the website make it appear as if they are a gluten friendly facility. For the price everything we had was a huge disappointment, if it was cheaper it would have still been somewhere we wouldn't return. I hope that I was just there on an off day.

I have celiac. I used to get carry out lunch from Double Wide often but will not return. I got extremely sick after eating my usual fare of burger and cole slaw, called to report the issue in a friendly fashion and never received a return call. I’m open to restaurant that takes errors seriously. This one does not so is on my unsafe list.

The outdoor patio area is nice on a sunny day. The GF menu was discontinued and options were limited. Service was good but the food was terrible. I was very disappointed.

Double wide has a gluten free menu. The server was friendly but she forgot to tell the kitchen that I was celiac. I ordered a salad thinking that was a safe choice and it was served to me with a piece of cornbread on the side of the plate. After inquiring, i was told it was made with flour. The server apologized and said that she forgot to tell kitchen about gluten allergy. However, they did replace the salad.

Do NOT eat here if you are Celiac. Waitress was extremely uninformed in general regarding the (separate) gluten free menu, gave my husband french fries from a shared fryer, was super rude after we (nicely and politely) informed her that the bartender was wrong - that Budweiser is NOT a gluten free beer, and then proceeded to be very rude to us and treat us horribly. Bad experience AND I am now sick (and I DIDN’T have the french fries).

My waiter was very clear in telling me that the wings are gluten free. I even made a comment about how good they were and we had a short conversation. The wings are not gluten free, just got off the phone with a manager. Thanks doublewide dooshers!

I went here about 2 weeks after being diagnosed with Celiacs and even though I ordered a salad off of the gluten free menu I definitely got glutened. I did talked to the waitress about the gluten free options. Now, in their defense I was a newbie and did not realize that I needed to ask questions about cross contamination. Truthfully, I'm not sure I'll take the chance again.

The correct address is 2339 East Carson, Pittsburgh. The app has the wrong address! The gluten free menu is very specific, but a little confusing. They don't have dedicated fryers. The server was knowledgeable concerning gluten. I had a pulled pork sandwich on a gluten free bun with rice and beans. It was very good and I had no effects of cross-contamination.

We use to eat here all the time. Love it. But the new staff is not educated on gluten free. Management didn't even know if the sauce was gluten free. Waitress said you can try it!!!

A very casual place with some GF options. Our waiter stated that "most of my customers are celiacs". Whether this is actually true I am not sure because it seemed to be a very hectic, bustling place with students, locals, tourists, etc. However we were pleased that our son had several options to choose from (but not a LOT of options) and we felt the staff was knowledgeable. Fun atmosphere, good beer selection, and even a gluten free beer on the menu.
