I get taken here quite a bit by groups of friends or out of towners that want a neat atmosphere. TBH there’s little that I can eat, but that isn’t the biggest issue. What is the issue is a cascade of failures that happened yesterday. - went to brunch, there were two entire options 1) Cobb salad 2) mushroom scramble. Went with the mushroom scramble - I asked if the sausage as a side would be safe, if not, I’d do bacon. Waiter came back and said sausage and bacon were both cooked on a shared flat top. I said thanks for letting me know and I’d skip them - food came with a two sides, some leafy greens and some hash browns. I ate the eggs without thinking but the hash browns I waited to ask the waiter if they were also cooked on the shared flat top. He said yes they were but they’d cleaned it last night and it was “still kind of early in the day”. I gave the potatoes to my fiance and realized that if he didn’t tell me about the potatoes, what surface were the eggs cooked on? I’d eaten half of them at this point and was basically ready to call it quits. So, maybe the eggs were kinda safe?

Long story short, idk if there are any surfaces that are remotely safe
