Good! Not a lot of great gluten free options at this location (no pancakes or waffles) but there were egg options and it was good! Didn’t get sick!

Went for dinner and will not return. Was talked into adding an avocado to my dish, it was a limp brown half of the smallest avocado I have ever seen. The charge was added into the charge for my dish — which was $3 higher than the menu indicated.

Fryer is dedicated gluten free so there are many options not normally available! Fried chicken, fish and chips, French fries and more. Plus meatloaf. I definitely would come back!

Maybe brunch is delicious, but we went at night and the food was inedible. The rice wasn't cooked in my dish. I felt awful after eating here.

This ‘hole in the wall’ is not to be missed. Don’t underestimate its humble appearance. I just ordered the BLTA salad. It took a bit to arrive - because it was clear from the crisp, moist fried chicken that it was freshly made. And that creamy garlic dressing was heaven.

Knowledgeable staff and understood our cross-contamination concerns. My daughter got the pork breakfast tacos and said they were delicious. She is incredibly sensitive to cross-contamination and had no ill effects afterwards.

We have been coming here the last two years. I have always highly recommended to friends because the food was absolutely delicious and I never got sick. We checked into our hotel tonight and headed there for dinner. Our first clue should have been the fact that there were hardly any diners eating there at 6:30 pm. Our food was terrible. Dried, yet greasy and cold. Definitely not what was represented and not what we were accustomed to when dining there. We won’t be back. Bitterly disappointed. The staff was very nice and seemed to know there is a kitchen problem. I even asked if I came back for breakfast, if the food would be better. The staff member shook her head….

This place is awesome! Every time I go there, I always enjoy the food. I don't know if it's celiac friendly (i didn't ask) but it has gluten free and vegan options noted on the menu. My favorite is the Yam Scram made with eggs, sausage, maple bacon, sweet potatoes and green onion. So good! They are very accommodating and the service staff were very helpful in suggesting things I hadn't thought of or tried. Service isn't quick but it's a nice place to hang out!

Very slow, food not great, fries soggy, they almost messed up my sandwich and served me a regular bun. Luckily the waitress caught that. My whole family thought the food was not very good. Would not recommend this. Floors were slippery and dirty.

Y’all, I cannot for the life of me understand the great reviews. The food really was awful. We got the fried chicken, fish and chips and my husband got the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I can say that it looked nothing like the chicken in other peoples posts. It was a few small thin pieces of chicken, with absolutely no seasoning. The mashed potatoes were cold and no seasoning at all. The fish was so greasy and the fries were soggy (like limp soggy). I never leave bad reviews and I love and appreciate restaurants that offer GF options, but it was such a disappointment and a waste of $100 Note: it is probably safer than 1/5, but it automatically changed my rating to 4 stars with a higher safety rating

If you are in Asheville and celiac, EAT HERE!! Everything except the biscuits ar GF. The fried chicken was incredible! The kids (daughter has celiac) had chicken and waffles. They were delicious and i think it was our daughter’s first time have chicken fingers. Such an amazing restaurant. I want to go back again!!!

The gluten-free buttermilk fried chicken was excellent, although a bit greasy. Potatoes were good but maybe a little bit too lumpy. The herbed gravy was decent but not mind blowing. The green beans were not terribly flavorful but cooked well. I enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back, mainly for the super juicy crispy GF fried chicken. The service was great

I asked the waiter to confirm a dish marked GF was safe. He confirmed. After I had taken 4 bites, he came out and said it was cross contaminated with gluten. In fact had GLUTEN GRAVY on it! I didn't even ask for gravy but the menu said it came with it so I assumed it was safe. I found out the meal should NOT have come with the white gravy. I had no idea but the waiter could have noticed it had the wrong gravy.

Ate here twice for brunch while on vacation in downtown Asheville. Delicious gf fried chicken tenders, eggs and home fries. Both my son and I, who have celiac, did not get sick. Non-celiac family members loved the food as well. Highly recommend!
Gave 3 stars for variety because the bacon and sausage are not gf, no gf pancakes/waffles, and no gf biscuits.

MIND BLOWING fish and chips! I can not wrap my head around how they have mastered their fried fish. It was a religious experience. I’m pretty sure my soul left my body. And the hot honey fried chicken sandwich on a gf bun…GAH!!!! Incredible!

I was so excited to try Early Girl, but the experience was overall disappointing. I told the server I have a gluten allergy and ordered an item marked GF on the menu. Service was slow, unfriendly, and they served me my sandwich on a gluten bun. It looked really good, so I asked if it was really gluten free, and another employee confirmed that it was a gluten bun. They remade the sandwich, but the server was very unapologetic and made no effort to make up for his mistake, which caused me to wait a full hour for my sandwich. The chicken sandwich was delicious, but if I hadn’t caught their mistake, my trip to Asheville would have been ruined. This was a good reminder to be vigilant, even at restaurants that are considered to be allergy safe.

So good! We visited the Haywood location. I was so excited to have a menu full of gluten free options! Especially because most of it is the kind of food us gluten free people are missing out on! I ordered the fish and chips and it was amazing and I had no reaction. The rest of my (gluten eating) family loved their food too.

Advertise themselves as a GF friendly establishment but absolutely no precaution is taken in the kitchen. The standard bread toaster sits directly beside the line where prepared food comes out & crumbs fly all over people's plates. A huge bin of gluten biscuits also sits on the other side of the line. There's a food runner that stands in front of the line and handles everyone's food with the same pair of gloves they use to put biscuits and toast on plates. Not safe at all for celiac & horribly dishonest management. This establishment is also infamous for keeping in house covid cases hidden from employees. Avoid.

We ended up here because we got caught in a thunderstorm. While I didn’t hold out much hope that Early Girl would have anything but salad that time of day, I was pleasantly surprised. I learned that the downtown location celiac friendly and had a dedicated fryer. I had fried chicken with potatoes and gravy and a vegetable. It’s rare to find gluten free fried Chicken. So… I did it. The staff is knowledgable and very helpful. The person who waited on us, has a sister that is celiac and understood the challenges. Early Girl does mainly breakfast and lunch and is usually really busy.
