Wonderful restaurant - everything except the bologna is available with a GF option. Dedicated fryers and separate prep area. I had the Reuben and onion rings. The onion rings were fantastic, as was each component of the Reuben. My only complaint is the Reuben was too dry - it needs to be soft and drippy to be a « real » Reuben. OTOH it held together when picked up.. a feat in itself

I discovered this little gem about a year ago. Dedicated to creating an inclusive atmosphere, Easy Street Diner offers a Diner dedicated to serving all who pass through their doors. Not charging extra for Gluten Free products such as breads or buns, they offer a location I have never had cc issues with. I return almost weekly, either in person or via Uber Eats. My staples are the chicken & waffles & the chicken sandwich. I am confident as a Celiac to return time & time again. We recently were told they are in the process of creating a bakery- I am thrilled and excited for them. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for some comfort l, Diner food done with love!

So I was checking out my messages and I saw this pic of a chocolate eclair pop up. Seriously I just got home from an incredible day and not sure about dinner just knew I was really tired.

It popped up again and after that I could not get it outta my head. So I tried to order on line but never done that before So then I called; greeted by this incredible lady on the phone. I ordered 2x cause my fiancee is also gf; I knew he would be pissed if I didn’t get one for him too. So being me; I ordered the most amazing burger I’ve ever tasted. Fries and onion rings; and a lot of desserts. Mostly for me… I gotta say I was so excited to find this place. I was introduced to one of the owners through the pass through. Had an amazing chat with 2 incredible woman working the front area. My experience was stellar. Place was extremely clean and inviting atmosphere. Fiancé is leaving next week for a while so I suspect I’ll be hitting here a bit more often. Oh by the way the eclairs;;; soooo soooo yummy and I could tell had a lot of love baked into it. I forgot to tell you; The apple crisp; AMAZING;; I honestly could have eaten the whole thing in one sitting. Just glad I wasn’t dining in I’d have kept ordering. The portions were good for everything ; so I’m my opinion. Everyone should check this place out. And I hear they are opening a bakery in the basement . Now I’m craving dessert and it’s after 8pm. Highly highly recommend..

East Street Diner is my number one recommendation for gluten free dining in Halifax! Almost their whole menu can be made gluten free and they’re knowledgeable about cross contact. And the staff are absolutely lovely.

Went twice while on vacation. Excellent service and nearly everything is or can be made gluten free. The pasta and shepherds pie were very good. Shared the generously sized homemade ice cream sandwich and peanut butter pie. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience! They have a dedicated griddle for most of the cooking. Our server said the minimal amount of gluten they have is segregated to a small area of the kitchen. I felt very comfortable and we all enjoyed our food. Great atmosphere as well!

This is a place you must go to!!! I am celiac and was very impressed with my whole experience. The atmosphere was wonderful, food was outstanding and the staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. Cannot say enough great things about this place.

By far, this is the safest place in Halifax to eat as a sensitive celiac. I think every menu item can be made GF and many are dairy free as well. Staff are professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. And the prices are affordable! Great for families, kids, couples. Can’t say enough good things about them.

This place was incredible! I had no idea we were walking into a gluten free diner so I was surprised when I saw all of the GF options. The menu is clearly marked and the staff was friendly and helpful. I took a while to decide because there were things I hadn’t eaten in years and was excited to try. I got the chicken and waffles which was amazing. My partner who very much likes gluten said he wouldn’t have known it was gluten free. They also have GF ice cream sandwiches made to order with your voice of ice cream on chocolate chip cookies. We will be going back for sure!

I do not have celiac but I get sick, however, I can manage cross contamination. The waitstaff explained the kitchen when I asked about the GF menu and they asked if I had celiac. They were very knowledgeable and told me the place was started with the idea to serve the celiac community.

Randomly had a suggestion to follow this place on Instagram, and so glad I did! From the moment you walk in the door you get a friendly greeting if not from the wait staff, from the Chef’s themselves poking their heads out of the kitchen. The atmosphere was bright, very clean and comfortable, and I love the nostalgic retro vibes and old school jams. It’s so hard going out to eat when you are strictly gluten free, and there are very few places that offer such a wide array of gluten free options who also pay attention to cross contamination! Now on to the food … For what we ordered … by far the best gluten free wise in the city we’ve had!! And to top it all off … very reasonably priced. Today was their 1 year Anniversary in business and there were only a few customers inside at what I would think should have been a busy time. I just want to help get the word out so everyone knows how all around great they are, because I hope they stick around for a really long time! I’ll definitely be a return customer! Chef’s Kiss 😘👌🏼

I have had 3 excellent eating experiences. The staff are friendly, and willing to answer any questions. I was impressed to find out that while they have gluten bread available, pretty much everything is gluten free. They have no gluten flour in the kitchen. You should always say you have celiac, so they know to take all necessary precautions to avoid CC. Fish and chips are excellent.
