The main reason I wanted to review this restaurant is because this is the first Mexican restaurant in Searcy that I have gotten a good answer about how they prepare their tortilla chips. If you've been to Searcy, you know it has lots of Mexican restaurant options. I have been to several so far, and all have either told me that they fry their chips in a non-dedicated fryer or they did not seem certain enough for me to trust the chips. If you can't eat the chips at a Mexican restaurant, that's a huge deal!
The waiter checked with the manager and verified that the chips were fried in a dedicated fryer, so I ate them with my meal and did not get sick. I had cheese dip and chicken fajitas, all very good! My only complaint is that I asked for corn tortillas with my fajitas. The first tortillas that came out were definitely flour, and when I asked again for corn I was not certain that the replacement were corn. The texture was somewhere between corn and flour, so I wonder if they were a blend. In the end, I just ate the chips instead of the tortillas.
Food was very good, the server was very nice, and the atmosphere is very open and nice inside. This will likely become our go-to Mexican restaurant in Searcy!
