Sometimes the GF Gods are looking out for you! After a horrible experience at a touristy bar / restaurant just a few feet away (the food never showed up) I found this hidden gem just after a quick left turn at the intersection. Arepas are naturally GF and theirs are amazing! This is not a sit down restaurant but they do have some tables out front to enjoy the quaint and laid back downtown Golden main business district. Got to love these places! Simple food, well prepared and affordable too. Walk past some of the “Rosier” places nearby and enjoy a great meal provided by a true small business.

Very good arepas. I asked if they would clean the grill and they definitely did. Very glad I stopped here.

This is a very small, hole in the wall place with amazing food. They have a gluten free menu with several choices.

Fantastic food. Highly recommended. The chicken tacos were the best; the arenas are very good.

I've never had real, fresh pupusas before, just ones from the freezer. These things are amazing. I had a "Mexican" tamale and being from Southern California, I can be very picky about this. These tamales are probably some of the best from a restaurant. If I'm ever up here again, El Callejon is on the top of the list to dine. If me and some friends can fit, lol.

I love this tiny place! They don't have a dedicated gluten-free prep area, so not good for true celiac. But all the gluten-free options are clearly marked and they are "gluten aware". Oh yeah, and the food is delicious!
