Nice to find a restaurant in this small town that I felt confidence in. They do not have a dedicated fryer so that knocked out many of the items that are marked gf on the menu, but that still left a lot to choose from. I got the cachapa Dinner - good. I knew it was described as sweet corn and it was. I enjoyed it , but next time I works get something else. Service was excellent. Live music in the back, quieter in the front.

Another one of those "we should have listened to the last reviewer" experiences. Despite many items on the menu being marked as GF, they were not safe for anyone with celiac disease. The fried and grilled foods are prepared in a shared fryer and shared grill. Our server was not knowledgeable about any questions about gluten free items, but very willingly went back to the kitchen several times to ask questions of the cook - it was only her second week. The cook did offer clean the grill and prepare a food item, but because the kitchen was busy it would add at least 30 minutes to our wait time. Like other reviewers, there is no bar menu and we had a long wait for our food which took over 45 minutes to arrive at our table. The only safe thing for my celiac daughter were nachos with chicken which ended up being a basket of flavorless corn chips with a side of chicken and a bowl of salty queso.

They just got new menus and things are clearly marked Gf. However, some are NOT, and you have to ask questions!! They say their fries are GF, but they do Not have a gf fryer. Thankfully the server was honest WHEN I ASKED HER. If I hadn’t asked, I would have gotten horribly sick. Thankfully I did not get sick. We thought the food was ok, nothing to rave about. We enjoyed the music, though.
Such a cute family owned restaurant! Stopped at the restaurant on our way through the town and it was an amazing find. The staff knew exactly what we could and could not eat when we mentioned there were Celiacs in our group and were very helpful in helping us order safely. The food is absolutely delicious and would recommend to anyone passing through Elkins!

We don’t have celiac, but ate here safely for gluten sensitive. Had a fun time here and would come back again and again. Just passing through town and found they have empanadas made with only corn flour. If you’re not sensitive to corn this could be a great option. Same for arepas.
