They have a gluten 'friendly' menu with several options. The chips and salsa are gf which is great. I have celiac and didn't get sick. Definitely recommend!

My daughter has celiac. We eat here all of the time and have never had a problem. She is VERY sensitive! She loves the pork enchiladas with green sauce and the combo platter with a taco/enchilada. She loves their refried beans and garden salad without the snack mix. We buy extra chips and salsa to take home. You definitely should give it a try. We are ordering takeout tonight 😉

They have a GF menu but will not serve people with Celiac Disease. We asked about whether or not they would be able to accommodate celiac disease at the counter before putting our names on the list. The young lady said they could accommodate us and handed me a GF menu. We waited a long time for a table. Once seated, I informed the waiter that I have Celiac disease and need to be gluten free. He said that they are not gluten free, just gluten friendly and that my meal would take awhile to prepare of it were to be gluten free. When I said I understood and was willing to wait longer for a safe meal, he took my husband's order but wouldn't take mine. He told me that the owner would need to come out and get my order details so she could communicate them to the kitchen. We waited again for a few minutes. When the owner arrived at our table, she told me that they are not really GF and that there was nothing she could serve me. Needless to say I was a bit miffed at this point. They wasted over an hour of my time. I would suggest avoiding El Matador at all costs. They need to train the front of house and discontinue offering a GF menu if they cannot deliver.
