We were in Austin for the eclipse and were thrilled to try this James Beard award winning chef’s restaurant. As a celiac it is wonderful to have a place which is gf unless marked otherwise as the chef is also a celiac. That was amazing. Ceviche was great as was the sofritos. The guacamole was rather ordinary although nice to have safe gf chips. We shared the duck mole Negro which was beautiful and a rich mole favor. We also had the pork shank in orange juice and spice marinade. Delicious and enough for two. The overall experience was quite good but missed being outstanding. The noise level was high and considering the price point, while the duck mole and the pork shank were impressive, the overall experience was less than 5 stars. Worth visiting for the authentic Oaxacan cuisine.

Menu is almost all gluten free, except items marked "NGF" (not gluten free). They provide a complimentary bread service (vs. chips and salsa at most Mexican restaurants), but you can request corn tortillas instead. The mole dishes were excellent, as was the flourless chocolate torte.
