Elle's Bakeria

This little place doesn't seem to have had a good plan or menu before they started. They had no clue about cc when they started. They said they would be closed for the summer and a week later decided to open again. They claim "organic" but they have used things like Udi's tortillas and BRM non-organic flours. I have been 5 times and 3 times have been a huge disappointment- panini that was ice cold in the middle - told that paninis aren't supposed to be warm and melty. a salad that was tasty but $15 for an average sized salad. Muffins that were hard as a rock.I really would like this place to work out but they need to figure out how to cook gf and what gf means. Unfortunately, I hav heard these same complaints from a few others. I won't be back for a while. Going to say "not Celiac safe" because of the general lack of understanding of gf by the owner and the chef.



Edit on 7/29/15 - looks like they have closed. They are now a subscription meal service and not all gf.

"Fresh & Organic" is what they claim. Well it was a complete turn off when the employees were seen smoking outside this place with the doors open to the kitchen after we had eaten there. Sick. The food itself was dry and bland, not to mention way over priced. We won't be going back. This is gluten free gone wrong.

My family and I have eaten a lot of gluten free items over the years from restaurants, bakeries, and store bought items. So it really surprised us when we came here because they boast that they are completely gluten free. We thought that it would mean that the owners would really know how to make gluten free items. After trying several items, we were extremely disappointed. Their portions are very small but the prices are very high. The gluten free bakery items just fall a part. They are dry and really have no taste. We will not be back here because the cost is high and the quality is low. There are plenty of other places to go that are priced right and have good quality products.

This restaraunt is NOT 100% gluten free or nut free. They served wheat products including homemade wheat/gluten containing breads, etc. For months before now claiming their "gluten free." Their menu still states they serve wheat containing products. Also, they serve items such as almonds and use flour products that "could contain nuts" here. There are many other true gluten free establishments around Kansas City that live up to their claims. This place should be passed on.

Oh my gosh! I got a yummy panini and a bunch of treats!!!! Loooooooove it so much!
