I had a devastating wedding experience here. The bride and I called in advance, double checked before the wedding and the venue insisted they could do coeliac even when I offered to bring my own food. The first mistake was they served me calamari that was done in the same fryer and when they realised panicked and said “do we need to call an ambulance?!” The second mistake was they served my sister (also coeliac) and I wheat pasta for the main meal. There they panicked and kept offering us epipens which showed the clearly didn’t know at all what they were dealing with even though they had insisted months in advance that they did. When I realised (halfway through) we then spent ages in the bathroom trying to vomit it up which meant we missed the couple’s first dance. The venue were apologetic and compensated us for the work we missed as a result of being sick but I haven’t heard how they have changed any of their processes since so I just though I’d put a review out there to warn other coeliacs.
