I stopped in and while staff was very nice they didn’t have any GF bread. Apparently there was a recall on the bread so they aren’t sure how long until they will have more. I’m not going to doc the rating for this. Just wanted to inform anyone planning to go so you can call ahead of time.
I used to eat here long before I was diagnosed with celiac. I then went over a year of not having faith in anything that I did not prepare.
My son and I are taking bagpipe lessons right down the road from this place so I had to suck it up and try it when I found out they had GF bread. My cravings for subs have been fulfilled and we go there every week now. I told them I had celiac And the entire prep line knew what to do. I have had zero issues there and I hope they do not get rid of the GF bread like most places do. There was only one weekend they didn’t have the bread because of “supplier issues” so I just had a salad. Love this place!

I tried their Italian sub on the gluten free roll and it was very tasty. So nice to be able to enjoy a sub sandwich again!

When they have the GF bun it is a great option for something fast. If you ask they will put foil on the toaster and change gloves etc. they mark the GF items too.

Gluten free bread was delicious! So fluffy and tasted “normal” instead of dense and chemically. It was a bit smaller than the other “medium” subs in the order but I didn’t care because it was the closest to real bread I’ve found in a while. I didn’t watch them make it so I don’t fully know about cross contamination but I did get mustard and mayo packets on the side instead of it being included and my sub was wrapped in foil separately and differently than the rest of the order.

Had a great experience at Firehouse Subs. Staff was knowledgeable about gluten cross contact and explained all their precautions to me. They even knew that the pickles should be avoided. I got the turkey with melted cheese on top and their standard Shar hoagie roll. Delicious!
They have solid allergy protocols (using fresh containers, changing gloves, toasting on foil). The cashier said that all of the toppings are GF, but I played it safe (she didn’t seem 100% certain, and things like meatballs are a red flag). I played it safe and had a turkey sub. It was fine, but not worth the $18 it cost.
