Staff knew right away which hard serve flavors were gf but they don’t have them marked and they end up being the chocolate, vanilla, strawberry peanut butter, huckleberry, clotted cream and one or two other things aka the plain flavors :( beware of clotted cream tasted like straight cream cheese :/

Fun and delicious ice cream flavors. The staff gladly scooped our son’s order from a new tub in the back upon request.

Butterbeer soft serve was gf. No issues, but the staff seemed a little confused.

Tried the strawberry peanut butter ice cream. If you ask they will scoop your ice cream in the back to prevent cross contamination.

I had the strawberry peanut butter and chocolate raspberry. The strawberry PB was sooo good (but I also love peanut butter - it’s very peanut buttery), and the chocolate raspberry was decent but nothing special.
The workers double checked for allergens, got me a clean scoop from the back, and changed their gloves. Great experience!

Depends on the day. One day I was told I could have strawberry peanut butter hard serve ice cream pulled from the back. The other I was told I could only have soft serve ice cream. They do have paper cups. Great atmosphere and great flavor! Just lacks consistency in staff knowledge.

Great experience here! They let me know which flavors I couldn’t have, then got me allergy scoops from the back. Delicious!

BUTTERBEER SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM. Amazing. They have hard ice creams in the back for separate scooping and are knowledgable. Highly recommend!

Our first time there was a long line so we just ordered soft serve after checking and verifying the soft serve was all gluten free. They had paper cups out and it wasn’t a problem to use them for us. The second time we went, no one else was in line so I asked about gluten free options for celiac with the hard ice cream and she said we could get chocolate raspberry, clotted cream, strawberry peanut butter, earl gray and lavender, chocolate or chocolate chili and they would pull it from the back from a new container with clean scoopers as 3 of us are celiac. We enjoyed having the option for some hard serve or soft ice cream.

Staff was very knowledgeable about all of their gluten free options and informed me that the soft serve was the safest choice. You have to tell them it’s a gluten allergy and they offer good size paper cups for the ice cream instead of paying for the souvenir cups. They even went to the back to get my cup separately. I got pistachio soft serve and it was delicious. No issues.

As others have noted, you have to mention Celiac or gluten intolerance to get a free paper cup now but they were very happy to accommodate. All the soft serve ice cream is gf (including the Butterbeer flavor!). And if you want the hard ice cream, they will tell you which flavors are safe and then open a new container from the back and use a fresh scooper so there’s no chance of cross contamination. The ice cream is so delicious!
Yes
**** when you get to the counter to order tell them you have an "allergy" so you do not have to pay for a souvenir cup******
Had the butterbeer soft serve in a cup and had no reaction also It was delicious.
Yes
Soft serve is gluten free. When I ordered a Sundae they took extra precautions before I could ask by getting the sauce and whipped cream from new containers to prevent cross-contamination. Yummy!
Yes
Hot fudge sundae with vanilla/chocolate swirl, whipped cream, and a cherry. Yum!! Soft serve is the safest as they use the same scoopers for all of the ice cream.
All soft serve is gluten free and totally safe. You can get it in a cup, must pay extra for souvenir cup (only option). Worth it for total safety. All hard ice cream either has gluten ingredients or is cross-contaminated. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Celiac friendly if you stay within the available options. Delicious.
Yes
Supposedly all frozen yogurt is gluten free. The server wasn’t sure and ran and asked. I had the butterbeer flavor and it was delicious. Only issue was that they had either cones or a souvenir cup..the cup had an additional cost. That was disheartening when I HAD to use a cup. There were cone crumbs everywhere when it came to checking out. Even the card machine was covered. I think if they weren’t so busy, they would have been able to keep the crumbs and ice cream off the counters and machines better, but it’s understandable. I think they should advertise a paper cup option for those who can’t have a cone. Either way, I didn’t get sick this visit.

I was at Universal Studios Orlando this past week and had ice cream at Florean Fortescue's. I ate there twice and I had the soft serve Butterbeer flavored ice-cream. It was divine!! I had contacted Universal Food Services via email prior to my trip and was advised that the Butterbeer was free from cross-contamination since it is in it's own dedicated machine. They also told me to steer clear of all hard-packed ice cream since they cannot guarantee that it has not been contaminated. I am very sensitive to gluten and did not get sick at all. I wish it was something I could get here at home!
Yes
The butterbeer soft serve is GF (and fantastic). Since it comes directly from the machine there are no cross contamination issues. The knowledge and procedures for the other ice cream flavors seems limited and inconsistent (shared scoops, ingredients, etc). If you have Celiac, I would proceed with caution beyond the soft serve.
I wish that they had more information about the ice creams. The only one that I know is definitively gluten-free is the Butterbeer soft serve, but it's wonderful. Everything else, not sure, and beware of cross contamination since they don't clean scoops in between ice cream flavors and they do have waffle cones. I have celiac and I didn't get sick after my butterbeer soft serve, but I don't know how reliable they are with non-cross contaminating things.
