I was very surprised to find this place while driving through Ruston on a road trip since we didn’t have anything like this place in the very big city of El Paso, TX. It was a delight to have them care so much about gluten free and be so knowledgeable, even if they weren’t sure on something they took the time to check instead of assuming. I had a delicious burger with a gluten free bun and fries. It was the best meal I had during our four day road trip.

Had fried Catfish and fries. The cashier assured me they were gluten free. They were fresh and delicious and I had no reaction. I enjoyed the meal and will definitely go back.

My 6 year old has Celiac and we ate here passing through on vacation. The manager was very kind and knowledgeable. He talked with us about the process of handling. He told us they were very careful to prevent cross contamination by changing gloves and cleaning surfaces and not mixing gluten free with non. He also told us they have dedicated fryers for each food so the fries were safe for her! While they don’t have a gluten free menu, they did go over all the options and she decided on a cheeseburger with a GF bun and fries. She rarely gets to eat with a bun so she was thrilled and said it was very good. They do also have several grilled seafood options and even a GF fried catfish. Overall we felt very safe letting her eat there and the employees were very kind and helpful.

We ordered burgers and fries. We made sure to tell them we needed gluten free. There was a sign near the cash register that read, "Gluten free options available". GF buns were great. Overall experience was excellent. Will eat here again.

Pretty disappointed by my experience here. I was very excited about a place in the area where I could safely eat, bc there are not many to choose from. We drove 30 mins from West Monroe, just to go to a place where I could, based on all of these reviews. I asked the guy at the register about the dedicated fryer. He wasn’t sure and asked the cooks, who said there is NOT A DEDICATED FRYER. I was really pumped for the fish and fries that I read about in the reviews. Instead, I had to settle for a burger with a gluten free bun and grilled zucchini/squash (that was only 4 slices mind you). The burger was good and the guy at the register was nice, which is the only reason I gave it 3 stars.

We were passing through on a road trip and based on other reviews tried it. We just settled on the burger and fries, but wish I had tried the catfish. The manager let me know that the owners daughter has celiac. The gal at the register was not aware of what was or wasn’t gluten free and I had to have her double check on things.

Great food. Celiac safe. Always tell them you have Celiac or allergy. Dedicated fryer for GF fish, shrimp and fries. Hand cut fries. New GF hamburger bun. Charges $1.00 extra for GF. I understand an up charge for a GF bun, but for the fish? Makes no sense.
Grilled fish or shrimp tacos on corn tortillas are good.

You need to make sure the cashier writes gluten free and no bread or hush puppies on your ticket. They have gluten free bread, however, tell them you don’t want it ran through the toaster with butter because the other gluten bread is placed in the toaster as well! Otherwise, this place is a go-to for me!
The gluten free options are burger, chicken, and the shrimp kabobs. They also have GF bread as well. If you get the shrimp kabobs, make sure you tell them ‘NO hush puppies’ or your plate will come back with a hush puppy on it, even if you tell the cashier that you are ‘GF’. Otherwise, this place is very safe because they cook the meat on a separate grill and they don’t handle GF bread along with the gluten bread. ***The best thing is that they have a dedicated fryer for their fries and they’re so good! *** I’ve never had an issue here and I’m pretty sensitive! You just have to be your own advocate!

You can get any fried shrimp or fish gluten free and they fry it in different grease according to the manager. I had a fried shrimp sandwich and it was delicious.
I had a burger with GF bun and it was the best I’ve ever had. I will definitely be back! Next time I will try the grouper poboy on a GF bun.
Very clean restaurant and the people that work there are very nice and helpful

The fried catfish is great. I had my friend who isn't Gluten Intolerant try mine and he said it was just as good as the regular. I stop here every I have to go through Ruston for work. Never been disappointed or had any reactions.

They do have gluten free breading for their fish and gluten free buns. They also have a dedicated fryer which is nice, however, they didn’t seem to have a real understanding of what foods were actually okay to eat. I asked the person at the register and got a lot of um, well I think this is. Also, even after telling me their hush puppies weren’t gluten free they still put them in with my fried fish! Overall, I feel like it would be okay if you were very very specific, and not actually celiac, but I wouldn’t trust them completely.
Awesome experience! Great food and extensive gluten free offerings. The best part is no illness afterward!!

Found this gem on a road trip. Met the staff who were very knowledgeable about gluten, cross contamination and celiac. As a celiac sufferer I appreciate the concern and detail they showed in preparation of my meal. The selection was great and meal was better. The catfish filets were thick and moist with a crunchy crispy golden brown crust. We will definitely make this stop again on future road trips!

The owner and manager are very aware of celiac. They have gluten free buns and a dedicated fryer for French fries. The manager also said they use a special fryer and batter for fried fish and shrimp. Highly recommend.
