We like their gf pizza. Crust is excellent but it’s a little too greasy. Not sure if it’s really possible to not have a greasy pizza though.

I had a very tasty pizza on a gluten-free crust purchased crust. The toppings were fresh. The sauce was ok, it was a little thin in texture but good flavor. The service was great. This a very popular place with a lot of carry out. The locals that dine in call ahead with their order.
Did not seem knowledgable when I called, elected not to try based on other reviews.
I got sick after eating their "gf" pizza. Also way to greasy.
I'm sure that Frankie's means well by offering gf pizza on their menu. However, upon asking whether they did anything to avoid contamination their first response was to look quizzically at me. I then asked if they wore gloves or anything to avoid gluten contamination. "Gloves? No. Why? It's my understanding that if the oven is hot enough it takes of the gluten." She then assured me that their oven was REALLY hot. By this logic, of course, a gf crust would not be necessary at all since the oven would take care of the gluten in regular pizza dough. Needless to say, Frankie's is NOT safe for anyone with genuine gluten sensitivity.
Oh my, this was not only good gf pizza, but was just GREAT pizza in general. I am always really nervous about pizza places as there is a real potential for a lot of CC with the flour, etc. We had no issues at all...and in our 4 nights in the area, we decided to eat here twice (once at the restaurant and then via takeout at our hotel) If I lived in Ashland, we would probably get pizza from Frankie's weekly. Not only was the gf pizza fantastic, the employees were very friendly and the price was SO reasonable. Great great pizza. My non-gf hubby said he wonders what the gluten filled pizza tastes like if the gf pizza is that good! We ordered two gluten free pizzas just for ease of eating/keeping things safe at our table.
Good pizza and always nice and quick.
