Had a reaction the last time we were there. Maybe a cross contamination issue.

After looking on the GF app I found that the take allergies VERY seriously. They also have many options for allergen and other dietary needs like vegan and vegetarian. I asked if it was safe for GF/DF. I was assured yes and did not get sick. They cooked them in the back rather than the front.

The portions are HUGE! And the food is fresh. The hash browns are to-die-for and you can get them with gravy (none for me) and or grilled onions (again none for me. I love onions but they do not love me). The train car is beautiful but we only had 5 of our 7 family members and a small booth with our 6’8 & 6’9 guys plus 5’8-5’10.5 youngest girls with myself on a chair in the aisle wasn’t ideal. There’s a larger table in the back not in the train car but it was occupied. I live that they had some 1/2 orders. I should’ve asked about my order as it was soooo much food and we were over 2 hours from home. The dogs will eat well tonight ;).

I was told by the manager that they are not gluten free and there is wheat flour all over the back room. Not going here again.

Staff knowledgable about Celiac. Made sure cooking staff changed gloves and use new butter for our toast. Will come back when we are in town again.

If you come for Sunday morning breakfast, be prepared to wait for a seat (my boyfriend and I waited about 30-40 minutes). But trust me, the wait is worth it. Frank's Diner must be the cutest diner I've been too. Buzzing atmosphere with oldies music providing great background noise. They're very accommodating to gluten allergies, and food arrived in a timely manner. Staff was polite and made sure everyone was happy. Large portions of hash browns, waffles, and other goodies. The highlight for me was the gluten free bread used for my BLT and that my hash browns weren't drenched in oil. They have many items that can be made gluten free. Pancakes, oatmeal, sandwiches, and so on. Even on the menu there's a note that they aren't a dedicated GF spot but to let the server know and they'll take extra care preparing your food. If I ever find myself in Spokane again, I'll definitely make another stop at Frank's Diner. Plus, the morning after I had no signs of cross contamination.
