Fuji Yama

I haven't had fried rice in years and was pleasantly surprised how delcious their chicken fried rice is, they used gf soy sauce. The miso soup & yum yum sauce was also gf. I enjoyed the food and didn't have a reaction.

— Good

The do have gluten free, but you have to be diligent when checking your food. They did not leave the seasoning off my veggies and I was sick all night! Got talked into trying them again and I checked my meal and seasoning was on the veggies again. They got it right after I sent it back, but I had to explain that no you can't just remake the veggies due to cross contamination. So they can do gf you just have to double check your meal and make sure there is no seasoning on anything!

This was my 2nd attempt to eat here while traveling and both times left without eating. I asked the host about gluten free and his response was to turn toward another employee who tried to answer my questions. Then another employee walked over and agreed with the 2nd person that some dishes were gluten free, depending upon what I wanted. She then asked what I planned to order (and I had not seen a menu). I told her I wasn't sure but it sounded like I might be safer to eat elsewhere and they all looked relieved as we left. NEVER AGAIN will I stop here.

They have gluten free soy sauce if you ask for it, and can make certain dishes with it as well. They sometimes add tempura "crunch" to sushi rolls even when it's not on the menu, so be sure to specify your allergy and not to put crunch in. I also ask for my sauces on the side to avoid the risk of them putting any of the brown sauces on.

It does not advertise as gluten free in restaurant or menu. The owner used to work at another restaurant where he would carefully prepare items so my family could eat them. We missed him and quit eating out when we found out he quit. I discovered a year later that he opened Fugi Yama, and was happy he remembered us. He makes variety of meals and has the best sushi in town. The mango fried rice is amazing! He even keeps gluten free soy sauce in cause his gluten free customers want it. Tony is a great cook and cares about his customers health.
