Went to this takeout place near closing which may explain our experience. Lots of people there understand Celiac and the restaurant clearly makes an effort to make GF food available without cross-contamination. The southern BBQ was amazing - we ordered pulled pork, smoked pork, fried catfish, Cole slaw and beans. My husband and I - usually good sharers- were both plotting how to get more of the catfish and the meats were to die for- huge portions, delicious!!! Cole slaw is the vinegar type (not mayo) and the beans were awesome.. All are designated GF (all their BBQ meats and the fried catfish are always GF) and I did not get sick. The one slip up was with the folks packing our to-go order. When we opened the containers, even though everything was marked GF, they had put cornbread into one container and a packet of crackers into our bag. The crackers had not touched anything else and the cornbread was separated by paper so it did not touch the meat and there was no contamination, but those oversights were very surprising given the excellent GF/Celiac focus from the rest of the staff. I would still recommend for southern BBQ - I think this was an end of the day slip up - but if you get spooked by that sort of slip up, you may want to consider avoiding the end of evening rush at this place.
