Funky Grits

Staff are knowledgeable and friendly! Tell them you have celiac and they will scrape the grill and make accommodations. If you are worried about cross contact, they recommend getting a build your own bowl. Their menu is very accessible with vegan, vegetarian, dairy free, and gluten free options. Right now, they do not have a dedicated fryer so stay away from fried menu items if you have celiac. That may change in the future so ask them about it!

The food itself is delicious. I ordered the Acadian bowl and the grits are a creamy comfort food that is nearly impossible to find when eating out as a celiac. I highly recommend Funky Grits!

Great staff who will work with you to keep you safe. As of July 2019 they don’t have a dedicated fryer, but they know protocol for grill cleaning and have a lot of great grits options. The Acadia is a top and the build a bowl option is fabulous. #GFTCMN

Most of the menu is gf! Traditional southern shrimp and grits! Options for legume, dairy, and meat free folks. Food is delicious and the staff is knowledgeable.
