Very knowledgeable on gf and celiac's. They have a fabulous gf pita bread that they will serve on the side (will not stuff for you if you have an actual allergy to avoid cross contamination). Highly recommend! The falafels are great and the flavored lemonades are so refreshing! I feel VERY confident when dining here.
My new go to restaurant. Staff is great. Knowledgable about GF. Awesome food.
Great service, everything is clearly marked GF and/or vegetarian. When you ask for GF the person making your order puts on a fresh pair of gloves. A bit expensive (about $10 for a GF wrap), but largely portioned and it comes with a side.
If you are sensitive to gluten, please don't visit this place. When me and my family came here, we told the server that we were gluten free and she rolled her eyes at us and made our food. The people were judgemental and rude. They made me and my brother share a half serving of meat. The food was okay but too simplistic. There is no gluten free bread or anything so they only advertise gluten free to get more customers. If this simplistic style is just Mediterranean style than I apoligize.
We told the girl we needed our order to be gluten free and she acted like she knew what we were asking. I watched her touch the pita from the order in front of us and proceed to grab my bowl with the same glove. I reminded her that she needed to change gloves, and she just said, "yea, I know," and kept the same bowl! Smh!
this place is great they are all so nice and are clearly trained about gluten. all there food is clearly marked. the gluten free pita is sooo good, they wrap them in foil so the can heat the up and not have cross contamination. almost everything on the menu is safe. and when you order the gluten free pita the first question they ask is if it is because of an allergy, say yes and they will guide you through ordering to make sure you are safe. this is a great place to get a good safe meal.
There stuff is clearly marked as to what is gluten free. the gluten free pita is wrapped in foil so no cross contamination when it is heated. most of there stuff is gluten free there are only a few things that are not. most of the staff really understands what is safe and what is not. only reason for not giving 5 stars is for the first time I went they said I could have something that I found out this time I could not because it has gluten, no wonder I got sick. also some of there staff is not as well informed as others, but there stuff is clearly marked.
I arrived here around 5pm on a Saturday and they were out of chicken kabobs! Plenty of chicken in the bins. But not for kabobs... The rice was hard! Don't bother with the gf pittas! The lamb gyro meat is NOT gf. Fortunately one of the staff knew! I am not a fan of hummus, but theirs is great! One of my friends also commented on how good their hummus is. Overall though, It's not a good value for the money. $10.32 for a kabob with 6 little pieces of steak? Maybe the chicken is a much better deal...
We love Garbanzo! The menu is clearly labeled, the food is fresh and there is very little risk of cross contamination if you avoid the pickles (they live next to the couscous). Wish the gyro meat was gluten free, because they do offer a gluten free pita and I miss a good Greek sandwich! We usually just get the bowl with no pita, still fantastic. Friendly service and to go ordering too.
Gluten free pita available for 1.99 extra
I trust what I'm eating is GF! I have celiac and never got sick. They also understand what GF is and importance for celiacs.
I have Celiac very severe and the store on Arapahoe makes all my food with clean gloves and everything from the back. Never been sick. I do go when they are less busy and wait a little longer than my family to get my food. Totally worth it though. Love the pitas!
I LOVE Garbonzos!!! Yes,as the previous review shared tjere is cross contamination from the food "on the line". But i have eaten there dozens & dozens of times without getting sick. My "secret"? I tell them i have a very sensitive allergy & could they please bring out some "x" from the back so that there is no risk... they offer to get me fresh anything! I do try not to go when there is a line to the door so i don't slow things down for a big line behind me... I have been to the location in Lone Tree the most - but have also been to the one in Park Meadows - Arapahoe & Orchard - even Boulder - this can be a celiac friendly safe place to eat & i have yet to meet a grumpy or difficult employee when i ask them for extra help & service!!!
Great variety, salads, sauces, soups and the price is right.
AWESOME!! Virtually every item, save the orzo soup and the pita, is gluten free. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. And best of all, the food was delicious! Babaganoush was EXCELLENT! I WILL BE BACK! UPDATE: Went back and came away sick. The first time I visited, everything was freshly put out (must have been the time of day) and all was well. Went during lunch and had a totally different experience. Changed rating to one star.
Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill here! We want to ensure the correct information is out there about our gluten-free options. While we have many gluten-free items on our menu and we strive to serve gluten-free guests to the best of our ability, we do not claim zero cross contamination in our restaurants. We are also not GiG trained, despite the rating Find Me Gluten Free has given us. If you are gluten-free, please let our servers know as soon as you enter the line. They should do this when you alert them, but if not please ask them to change their gloves, use fresh serving utensils and use fresh food kept in coolers under our front line. Our servers are also happy to answer any questions you may have about ingredients. Our website, www.EatGarbanzo.com, is also a great place to find our ingredients list. Thank you, The Garbanzo team
While nearly everything is labeled as gluten free, there is a ton of cross contamination and staff seems to be unaware that they should take any precautions. While standing in line I observed the spoon for the humus be wiped across a pita and plopped back into the dish, gloves weren't changed so the server touched a gluten containing something and then reached into the falafels, etc. What a bummer. No thanks!
We visited Garbonzo's while in town for a family event. Reading the reviews I got the idea that it was set up similar to Chipotle but with with Greek/ Mediterranean food, and that's exactly what it was you. You pick your style (wrap, salad, plate, pita) and then pick your protein and whatever else you want on it. While we waited they gave us a falafel (which was awesome). I ordered a salad and I was happy to see that each time someone ordered gluten-free they changed their gloves and they also pulled out a sep. set of ingredients from under the counter that had been set up for GF orders (to avoid cross-contamination). The food was excellent. I even went back and ordered more homemade chips & hummus to take back to our family. I really hope this chain spreads and I find one close to me soon.
The first time i came here the servers were well away about how to prepare GF food. My second time back and the servers (different set of people) thought they knew how to serve GF, but still had cross-contamination. They used the same spoon, but changed out the food :/ good thing the General Manager was there doing audits and I was able to tell her what the servers did. She wasn't very happy with them. I really like the food and want to come back if/when they can serve it the right way.
Great New Restaurant almost all Gluten free!
Loved this place pre-diagnosis, but I don't plan to return. What I have observed in their food-prep area is an absolute cross-contamination nightmare. My body is too sensitive to take that kind of risk.
Good. Quick. Cross contamination was in everything. Server not trained!
My favorite go-too place for a gluten free/dairy free lunch!
