There were two celiacs in our party, one who has reacts to contamination within minutes, and one who sometimes has a more delayed but prolonged reaction. There was a substantial gluten free menu, and we notified the waiter of our needs and requested she notify the kitchen staff and emphasize the importance of preventing cross contamination. Unfortunately, there was definitely contamination with one of the plates, and possibly the other. Very disappointing.

We went with a small group from a conference I am attending. The waiter warned me about the chips so I felt like he was trained. He flagged everything as GF. I am sure he did this because they said GF combo when they served it to me.... with a large flour tortilla. I started so say I can’t have the tortilla, but the waitress said no worries I will just take it off. I explained that everything was contaminated at that point and that I needed a new plate. I should have just cancelled my dinner then, but the waiter came back and said they were making a new plate. About 5 min later the new plate came but nothing was hit. That should have been my clue. Anyway, I’ve been sick since about 2 hours after I ate. Haven’t been sick in months. :-( This stinks.

I was sad that the chips they provide at the beginning are cooked in a contaminated fryer, but was grateful our waitress was knowledgeable. She did bring out a bowl of fruit (without me asking) for my celiac boys to enjoy while they waited for dinner!

The receipt very clearly marked our items "gluten free, celiac disease" which was really nice. I always worry that those important details die with the waitress, but this definitely got back to the cooking staff.

After a long drive we took a chance on the hotel restaurant and were very glad we did. they did not have a gluten free menu but Rayn, our server, was very knowledgeable about what I could eat as a celiac and seemed very aware of hidden glutens. He recommended several options and said they could adapt almost anything on the menu. I had the blue corn enchiladas with queso and they were fabulous.
