If I could give this restaurant zero stars for being celiac safe I would have. Their menu looks so promising with all sorts of GF notifications and AGF (available gluten free) but hardly anything is really gluten free. Steak Tips advertised as GF are marinated with Soy Sauce the salmon has a soy sauce glaze and is marked GF. The nacho chips are made in house in a non-dedicated fryer. Such a disappointment. We ended up with a chicken Caesar salad and a BBQ chicken pizza. Thankfully no one got sick but I would never return.

My husband is celiac. We went in because we saw they had gluten free items on the menu . Sat down and while looking at the menu saw their disclaimer that all their gluten free food has traces of gluten. And that their fries are gluten free but their fryers are not. We left. NOT celiac safe!

Went to Gas Lamp Grille today and was amazing by how many options on the many were either labeled “GF” or “AGF” (Available to be Gluten Free). I was so amazed I almost didn’t ask about the dedicated fryer option because surely a place with this many options would have it…They didn’t. But the didn’t hinder my experience now I know I can’t have the fried with my baby back ribs, I mean I preferred mashed potatoes anyway. Lol. Got the nachos as one of the “GF” appetizer and ended up going with the NY sirloin with Mashed potatoes and Seasonal veggies and I didn’t have any issues at all. As long as you ask the questions before ordering I think you would have a good experience here. Food was good and so was the service.

Excellent place to eat and drink. GF beer options (as well as Cider and Seltzers)
Majority of the menu was GF or available to be modified. Would recommend.

Stopped in here for a drink while I was in Newport and was surprised when looking at the menu that there were so many GF options. They had gf pasta, gf pizza, gf Mac & cheese and could make just about anything else on the menu gf. The waiter was super knowledgeable and made sure the kitchen took extra precaution when making my food. Didn’t get sick and the pizza was good!

Informed the server I was gluten intolerant... she informed me the fryer wasn't gluten free. I was getting grilled tacos, which normally come with chips and salsa. The chips wouldn't be safe,, so she offered me a side salad as a gluten free alternative which I accepted. The salad came with croutons on it, many of which had fallen off the salad into my taco. I picked them out of my taco and thankfully didn't get sick, but I imagine this place would not be good for celiac or more serious gluten intolerances and allergies. Also - the tacos just weren't good at all.

One of the best gf pizza crusts I’ve ever had! Staff knowledgeable, confirmed both pizza and pasta would be cooked on dedicated surfaces.

I should’ve listened to my “inner voice” about this restaurant and turned right around, but it was a busy night in Newport and this was the 3rd restaurant we’d tried. In spite of having items marked as GF on their menu, reading reviews here, and talking with the waitress, I was violently ill about 2 hours after eating here. I could tell the waitress wasn’t super aware of celiac, but asked all the right questions and was assured the grilled chicken tacos would be served on corn tortillas (which they were, I believe). Not sure what went wrong, but my reaction was one of the worst cross contamination episodes I’ve had in a long time. Buyer beware!

A lot of options but no dedicated fryer. Pasta, gf buns and a variety of sandwiches. I had the chicken wings and they were very good. Oven-baked, not fried

Absolutely awesome. The waitress knew all about celiac disease and there were many options.

I was excited to see gluten free marked on the menu, but sadly all of the exciting things (wings, pizza) are cross contaminated. The only reliable food is pasta, salad, and sandwiches with untoasted bun. Frustrated by the mismarked menu

We went for lunch. My husband has some food allergies-one being to dairy. The waitress was insensitive in her approach and kept telling him he couldn’t have eggs because it’s dairy. Cows don’t lay eggs. Wait staff really need to understand food and not challenge customers on their allergies. It made my husband feel talked down to because of her argumentative tone and her saying “fine, eat it at your own risk!” I would never go there again and it made us question the kitchens ability to make him a safe meal. People with food allergies don’t need to be spoken to like that. Wait staff need some training in talking to people with allergies who decide to eat at this restaurant.

Classic pub food. They offered to bake my fries instead of fry them. Yummy burger
Honestly we should have left when we walked in- the restaurant smelled really bad. Like dirty bar sink. Service was okay, food sub-par
Excellent chili (GF). Good size side salad. Big fries (aka: potato wedges) were great! They offered to bake them instead of fry to avoid cross contamination. Definite return!
They have a pretty extensive gluten free menu. They were knowledgeable about some aspects - such as for my son who is gluten and dairy free (Celiac and EOE), they knew that the rotisserie chicken was safe but that the side of rice has butter...and the side of fries which they said they would bake they informed me were likely to contain traces of gluten (so they offered to give him sliced apples as a side instead which was perfect)... but their kitchen-to-table system seems to have holes... I ordered one of the gluten free pastas and they initially brought me the regular pasta instead but it was meant for another table. I caught the error because I didn't order the pasta with shrimp... I had the pasta with scallops. It made me very nervous that they didn't realize their own mistake. Eat with caution here.

I had eaten here a few years ago and the food was great. The food was GF but just "okay".

Will definitely return! They have a pretty extensive gluten free menu and were very accommodating. The macaroni and cheese with chicken and bacon was delicious! The pasta was just like non-gf ziti.

We ordered the gluten free pasta with chicken and sundries tomatoes. It was tasteless. They don't have good gluten free noodles at this pub, but we appreciate that they at least offer a gluten free option.

Fillet Mignon bland, vegetables swimming in butter. The gluten free menu has a variety of options but sandwiches without bread, steak without the jus (they list this menu item describing it with the jus but put in brackets without the jus!) if it's a gluten free menu why put it there in the first place? No dedicated fryer. They do have gluten free pasta. We were give a choice of rice, fries or baked potato as the side so I requested salad instead which was an extra dollar. When meal brought to table it had vegetables so there was no need for salad. The waiter should have advised this when we asked about sides. The salad was wilted anyway. I was unwell today, so unsure if glutened there. My husband who is not Celiac thought his meal was ok.
