Dined with a special event in a separate room. Despite organizers informing them I had celiac, identifying myself at my table AND discussing the safest food on the selected menu - I got glutened.

There are definitely some gluten free items on the menu but the gentleman tending bar was totally clueless. Telling me to “just stay away from the bread”. Oh ok thanks.. I expect more from restaurants of this caliber. Morton’s is down the street if looking for a quality steak.
very accommodating menu options and best of all, the wait staff was so understanding. the smoked salmon was delicious! they do not have a separate setting to prepare the good, but I felt great.
No
Great steak, was told fries are gluten free and use a separate fryer. The desserts all look great but only crime brûlée is gluten free.

We’ve been to Gibson’s many times and always have helpful, friendly waitstaff. I always order a steak and we get the fries and the asparagus (Parmesan on the side) for dinner. It’s delicious and we’ve never had a negative reaction. It is a bummer they don’t note anything on the menu, but they are always willing to adjust items.

My family went out for my birthday. I asked for help from our waitress to tell me what items contained or were prepared using gluten and dairy as suggested by the restaurant. Instead of doing this, she simply told me I could have a salad with no toppings. I asked if the steaks were prepared with any butter. She said I could eat the steaks, again not answering if they are prepared in butter. I ordered a steak with no butter and a drink that the menu said was made with Titos vodka (I am sensitive to alcohol made with, distilled through wheat). My steak came with a side of sauce that contained butter and my drink tasted off. The waitress took the sauce from my plate when I asked about its ingredients, no apology. By the end of my steak and two sips of my drink, I did not feel well and knew something was contaminated with either gluten or butter. I learned there is no guarantee you will get waitstaff that are knowledgeable. For me, this was the worst experience I have ever had in a steakhouse of this caliber.

Went there with my daughter who has celiac and is quite sensitive. Food and service were excellent. Waitress was knowledgeable and the restaurant clearly has systems in place to address food allergies. They were able to serve gf french fries and béarnaise sauce in addition to the steak being gf. Old style, classic Chicago steak house.
