Also, beware of reviewers who own the restaurant (Mike) and are trying to convince you that the qualify hasn't gone down and that they recent reviews must just be wrong. Most reviewers understand that they can "drill down" to read last years reviews but most consumers aren't interested in how the quality was a year ago; they want to know what it is like now. In addition to their quality getting worse over the last year, they also apparently have an owner who would rather deny the concerns of their customers than actually address the issue. He even went out of his way to write bad reviews for the only other two "gluten free" bakeries in the Pittsburgh area. While the downgrade in quality is what motivated me to write the review, the tactless approach by the owner to write his own reivew is even more off-putting. Review sites were designed so that businesses have the ability to listen to individual customer concerns and then change their business model to meet the consumers' needs. Instead Mike chooses to deny, deny, deny. Doesn't look like things will improve at this bakery anytime soon.
Beware of reviewers that have of history of one review Drill down
Wonderful customer service, delicious food. They've made being gluten and soy free tolerable. Thank you!
Be going here for years and had a few problems in the past but nothing worth writing, but lately it is going the wrong way. The products are going down hill. Things are dense and dry, they can not cut the cakes thin and it a bit grainy. Really too bad I did love this place, but dry and dense is dry and dense!
Very dry and not a good as before, as well starchy, and the customer service has gone down!!!!!
I love being able to bring my kids to a GF bakery and allowing them to pick anything they want. Their products are beautiful, but I think the novice home cook can make tastier treats. I paid $75 for my daughter's birthday cake and it was like a dried, tasteless, dense brick covered in beautiful icing - far worse than your average GF box cake mix. The same goes for their cookies; they look great but taste awful. I wish they would try to rework their recipes.
Awful! Expensive tastes like cardboard
I had a B-day cake and it was on the dry starchy side, was not like I have had from them in the past.
I got my wedding cake from Gluuteny and they are just outstanding! I stop in often and I have never had anything there that I didn't LOVE! Five stars for sure.
My favorite gluten free bakery EVER. I went to grad school in Pittsburgh and every time I come back to visit I make a stop at gluteny. Haven't found anything as remarkable anywhere else. Truly a treasure for the celiacs of Pittsburgh!
My all time favorite gluten free & dairy free bakery. I live out of state & this is our first stop every time we are in Pgh. Absolutely, everything is delicious. The cookies, the cupcakes, the muffins are all fantastic. Even my family, who is not GF loves all of the treats here.
Amazing bakery. The best gf cupcakes I've had. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend stopping here.
Best bakery!!! Their pumpkin tarts are my favorite! I love the cookies too! My husband loves it too!
Had one of their cookies at a coffee shop in Shadyside. Fantastic!
I was in Pittsburgh for a wedding and went to this bakery as a result of a friend's suggestion and was blown away by the products at this bakery! I have tasted many GF baked goods and this is by far the best I have ever had. The brownies, cookies and cupcakes are outstanding. I will return!
Wonderful that it's gluten and dairy free. And I was pleasantly surprised with the reasonable prices. The seasonal pumpkin loaf was a wonderful solution to all the fall pumpkin cravings I've been having!
No parking, and the bread was a bit old. Tho had a cupcake that was not bad. Will be back when in the east side. But hate the travel. Wish I could get GF in the west side.
Gluuteny's baked goods taste soooo good that I beg my husband (who is gluten intolerant) "please don't bring any Gluuteny goodies home with you!" I just end up eating them all! LOL In all seriousness, Gluuteny's products do not taste "gluten free and dairy free". They are simply, delicious!
Hands down the best gluten-free baked goods I've had outside of those baked at home. Really delicious, gluten-free, casein-free cookies, cupcakes, whoopie pies, etc. and so refreshing that they don't use coconut, which gives me hives and is the latest trend in gluten-free baking. Some of their goods are stocked at Entropy, on the CMU campus, but it's worth a trip to go to the store. Get there early to have you pick and feast!
We loved the brownies and chocolate chip cookies. If you can eat nuts, the deluxe brownies are incredible with walnuts and a ganache topping. The portions are large, so be prepared to share or gain a few pounds! They also prepare nut free items safely!
Gluuteny is amazing. Their cookies and cupcakes are divine and I absolutely adore that they sell packaged mixes. I think the best part is that you don't even have to go to their store to purchase their products. They supply many other locations in Pittsburgh with their products for sale, such as Whole Foods, the East End Co-op, and even university campuses (there is a complete list on their website). When I see their logo, I know I'm getting delicious treats that won't aggravate my food allergies.
Amazing Amazing Amazing
Best place in the Pittsburgh area for GF/CF baked goods without question. Not sure where "John" is coming from with his post but it sounds like an attempt at bashing by Gluuteny's competition in "Robinson"! If the place in Robinson is so good why don't you just say the name......John.
Was not impressed with quality, the bread was not fresh and the cookies a bit too expensive. Not worth the drive and no free parking. But I did have a cupcake that was not too bad. I hear there is a place in the Robinson area.
Always amazing and delicious! Friendly staff. They will take orders over the phone for next day/same day service. Yummy cakes for all occasions. Cookies are good to freeze and use when a craving is near!!
I love this place. Everything is good. Favorites are the apple pie and double choc chip cookies. My kids love it and cant tell it is gluten free. You can buy mixes to make most stuff sold at store in your own house.
Amazing food but they're never freaking open.
couldn't tell it was gf! the icing was a little too sweet but I was do excited!
Amazing baked goods and their new GF pizzas are fantastic!
