All the women in my family are gluten sensitive and my granddaughter is celiac. This is the ONLY place in Tucson where we don't have to carefully look at the menu and grill the staff. The entire place is GF. The food is good too
The food is consistently good. You wouldn't know this is a dedicated gluten free restaurant if they didn't tell you on their signs. If you have celiac, like my 9 year old daughter this place is amazing, allowing us to freely share our food with no worries about gluten. If you don't need to eat gluten free you should still check it out because the food is great. I only wish I could transplant Gourmet Girls to the Seattle area.
Outstanding!!! I have been here multiple times and each visit is a treat. The cinnamon roll French toast is to die for. My husband and sister are not GF ( I have celiac) and enjoyed their meals thoroughly. I highly recommend eating here. The lunch menu is also great. I have picked up the lemon cake and carrot cake for gatherings and they please everyone.
Delicious and so wonderful not to have to drill all the employees about cross-contamination! My daughter was thrilled to be able to order from the entire menu.
Amazing! Hector and other staff were delightful and so helpful. Everything I had was amazing and my husband also loved it even though he does not have allergies. If you are in Tucson you must go, I wish I had a place like this near me!
Awesome and 100% GF. Tried multiple things throughout our stay: cinnamon roll (more of a cake; but yum!); cupcakes; magic bar; "Twinkie"; and lemon loaf. Plus several sandwiches. Everything was great. It's a small place, so if you dine in, it might take a little longer than you would expect - but definitely worth the wait.
I was excited to find a place that was so gluten friendly, but everything they have and made me was something I could make at home a little bit better and not as expensive. The waiting staff was not that great but the manager fixed their mess ups.
Very tasty restaurant but could give bigger portions (potatoes, etc).
I work here as a baker! I see the hard work, love, and excellence that goes into making this place be a safe haven for those with celiac disease, gluten intolerance, and other food allergies and sensitivities. The food is so yummy! If you have yet to come, you are in for a treat :)
Good English muffin but service was slow. It took almost 30 minutes to get our food at breakfast on a Saturday.
Went in today to grab some baked goods and was thoroughly disappointed. The bread was as dry and the desert and the cheesecake was like cardboard. Not my favorite. We decided to toss our purchases and make brownies from scratch, as what we procured wasn't delicious. The meals served in house might be wonderful (no first hand experience) but the baked goods certainly were not. Edited to add: 20 minutes later, wife and I both have serious indigestion. I don't think we'll be coming back.
I finally got biscuits and gravy back! Not to mention cake!!!! I cannot thank this place enough for giving me back the right to pick anything on a menu, to follow my tastebuds, and to enjoy eating out judgement free!!
I had the pulled pork, and the focaccia bread was nice and soft. Wife had the tuna melt and it was all fresh and delicious. Our server was Hector, whom we've seen mentioned in other reviews (with good cause - he's friendly and definitely a guy that enjoys his job). Friendly, good food in a quick casual setting.
Soft bread. Bakery and restaurant. Completely gluten-free.
Firstly- amazing service. I bought two everything bagels and one of the owners offered to toast it for me (my husband and I had a 7 hour drive ahead of us). She mentioned that her breads and bagels are best toasted. Also got a B&W cookie and a peanut butter bar that is so amazing. This is a great bakery!
Amazing food, I especially love their breakfast selections!
This place is to die for!!
Wonderful wonderful experience. Great food ( we had biscuits and gravy and the quiche and took some baked goods to go), and great service (Sherri and Hector were so helpful and accommodating ). We live in Phoenix and decided to try it based on the ratings and they deserve every star of their stellar 5 star rating. We will be back any time we are in Tucson.
Great place that can't be missed if you visit Tucson. Very disappointed they were closed Saturday night when I arrived the second time.
This gem is a bakery featuring homemade gluten-free baked goods and breakfast items served daily.
My husband found this place and special ordered a gluten free and dairy free chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with cherry filling for my birthday. It was AMAZING - everyone liked it (which meant I had to share, but that was okay). I have had their cookies and this morning I had biscuits and sausage gravy for the first time in years and it was heavenly. My husband can eat anything and has become quite the gf food critic and LOVED his gf pancakes. At first our service was a bit ify, but once we moved to Hector's section it was superb and the management came and made everything else good. Even though we live on the other side of Tucson about an hour away, we will be back. Next time for dinner. Be sure to ask for Hector!
Very good, had the pastrami Reuben on rye!
The food is awesome and the staff is super friendly. This is THE place in Tucson for gluten-free meals for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
OMG. I am from Chicago and just had a late breakfast at Gourmet Girls. I am Celiac and do not eat out often due to no choices or contamination. I guess I will have to move here if I want to enjoy a great gf meal out again. Everything on the menu is gf and if it is your first time good luck trying to make a choice. I suggest one of everything may work. My husband does not have to worry about gluten and he enjoyed his breakfast. They also have fresh gf bakery items so I stocked up on what I could take on my flight later today. BTW the staff is wonderful and friendly
It was amazing to be able to go here and order whatever I wanted without any worry. Everything was delicious as well!!
This restaurant is fabulous! The staff is very sweet and sensitive to each customer's diet issues. They patiently listen and make suggestions. When I arrived for dinner I was brought a bowl of rolls. I asked if they were dairy free and was told no, so the server immediately brought me some dairy free bread with soy free butter. I ordered the crab cakes (see photo) and a salad without cheese and was offered avocado instead. The food was great and the service was excellent. The prices are reasonable and if I lived in Tucson I would be here daily! They recently got a license to serve wine and gluten free beer. Definitely worth the visit.
Absolutely amazing desserts, exceptional food, and even better service. We can't eat out many places and these people treat you like family... Amy, you are a great asset the this place!!
Amazing GF restaurant! Great selection and fantastic food!
Great dedicated gluten free bakery and gluten free restaurant..
I LOVE this place! I go there probably too much...but it's SOOOO good! Never once have I been disappointed there.
Absolutely brilliant! Great service and food! Highly recommend
Really good cupcakes and breakfast/lunch food. The lemon raspberry cupcake was super yummy !! Staff is awesome!!! Peanut butter cookies are moist. Can't say enough of things about this place. I've since been back. Lunch was just as amazing. My boyfriend had the chocolate velvet cake made for my bday. If was moist and yummy...Even 2days later. It did not get dry and crumbly like most gf stuff.
Excellent food and great service!! Best burger I've had since being diagnosed with celiac. The bun was A.MAZ.ING, fried onions were perfection, and the patty was substantial, cooked perfectly, and juicy. Homemade chips were a great compliment to this excellent entree. I watched a few dishes come to other customers while I waited for my food to-go, and the presentation was beautiful! When I opened my to-go container a little later I was pleasantly surprised to find lovely presentation, even in a styrofoam box. So glad I found this gem!
Outstanding. So many desserts and breads to choose from I am overwhelmed. I mean... Challah French toast and fresh French baguettes? Quiche of the day was delish. Tucked away in a strip mall it may be hard to spot but hunt for it, it's worth it.
Amazing food! I'm gluten free and dairy free and they accommodated really well. Also very delicious!!!!
incredible! we will be coming back!!
Great pulled pork sandwich! They even have vegan cupcakes!
This is my favorite restaurant of all time. And Amy rocks :) THEY SERVE DINNER NOW!! Fridays and Saturdays!
I'm deducting one star because its so expensive.... but adding one because its just so damn good! I'm also deducting one because they have few dairy free options... but adding it back because the ones they do are just so darn good! I wish we had something this good out in Boston.
Man oh man, words would never do this place justice! I make it a point to stop every time I'm in town the Reuben and the chicken salad sandwiches at to die for, the clam chowder rocked my socks off, and then all the goodies to boot! Ask any of their amazingly personable employees for a crack bar, they won't disappoint.
Great GF food. Prices are very reasonable. Staff are very friendly!
The food is fantastic and worth the price. The service and homey feel even better. It's a unique experience to be able to order ANYTHING.
Biscuits and sausage gravy were fantastic! French bread tastes amazing! Never knew gluten free could taste so good. People complain it's expensive but compared to today's prices at all restaurants and considering they're a specialty restaurant, the prices are great! Can't wait to keep going back.
These people know gluten free. Very friendly. Cost is more than one dollar sign. Some things were priced more than I would normally pay. The gluten free quesadilla.
I was thrilled to find Gourmet Girls GF Bakery recently when I traveled to Tucson AZ! It was hard to decide what I wanted. The bread was amazing, the cookies, the buns and breakfast! We almost missed it due to road construction but they stayed open until we got there! Definitely will return when we are in the area. The gourmet cupcakes are calling me back!
Had an amazing lunch. Had the best BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Service was good. Will be back
Great spot! Out family has many food allergies and intolerances, they worked with them all and we had a wonderful breakfast.
Just returned from a week down in Tucson and had the best GF breakfasts (4 times) here. Had to bring home their baked goods and can't wait until they start shipping. Will be ordering weekly!
Good breakfast and wonderful service! Would come back anytime I'm in town :)
Incredibly good! Went for lunch and had carrot cupcake for desert, delicious. So wonderful to see my husband be able to enjoy a sandwich and not have to stress if it is going to make him sick. Thank you for wonderful sage food!
Nice to go out and not have to worry! 100% GF! Wish it was closer to my house! Will be making day trips here!
So good! Just like a regular bakery only GF! they have snacks and breads cookies and cakes! Even my mom who is not gluten free liked it!
I've been here several times and have brought many non-GF friends along. I am really grateful to have a dedicated GF bakery and diner in town. They are able to help you navigate their menu off you have additional food sensitivities/ allergies, and they are willing to make substitutes. However, they are always busy ( I've never seen the place empty), so you may have to wait for them to have time to go through their book of ingredients with you. I wish there were more egg free baked goods available. They have supported a number of local schools with donations odd baked goods for fundraisers. The only reason I'm only giving 4 stars is because my non-gf friends and family felt the food was just ok. Try their vegan cupcakes, you won't be disappointed!
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Love not having to worry when I order!
Gourmet Girls has incredible food and service. I have absolutely no gluten reactions, my husband and I eat there 2-3 times a week. Yeah, Gourmet Girls!
I have been purchasing goodies since their farmers market days.... love the sandwiches and breakfast. Thank you for bringing totally GF to Tucson! I will miss you when I move to Albuquerque.
Food is delicious but pricey. Had a wonderful chipotle mango cupcake that was moist and sweet. Small pizza crusts were interesting.
Totally gluten-free bakery with dairy and soy free options as well! They were incredibly sweet and helpful and my only regret is I didn't get to spend all day in there! My favorite product was the banana nut muffin but I hear the "Twinkie" is highly sought after!
A wonderful place to sit for a sandwich .
Love love love!!!! These ladies know what they are doing! Now I just need one on the east side so I can always have g free goodness!
i love that this is dedicated gluten-free. we did not have to question any ingredient. restaraunt was busy and service was great. food was also great!
Waaaaa! When is someone going to put something like this close to Chandler AZ. We don't have any around Phoenix at all. My sister is from Pitts. PA and they have all kinds of Gluten Free Resturants. When are we going to catch up. Please open one of your places around here. The pictures look really good along with all the great reviews.
The gem of Tucson! Everything was absolutely delicious. They were very accommodating with our soy allergy. The two toddlers ate every last crumb. We will be returning tomorrow for another meal.
Consistently good. Reliable, tasty, enjoyable. Blueberry pancakes & the waffle are my faves. I highly recommend...
Absolutely the best! Wonderful owners....wonderful service...wonderful food...
I dream about their Pastrami Reuben. the Seeded Dinner Rolls for Thanksgiving we're a big hit.
Four stars because of the dedicated facility. Having said that, pretty pricy for breakfast and sandwiches. Biscuits and gravy were good, not great but pretty good. Reuben was great but it was the first sandwich I'd had in 4 months so it was bound to be good. Bread was ok, a little, flat I guess. Waitress raved about the fresh out of the oven lemon bars that she claimed were to die for. I ordered one and then watched from our table as she plated a bar them put it in the microwave to warm up. Boo. On top of that, it didn't warm evenly or much at all and though I tasted powdered sugar and egg the lemon was barely detectable. And the crust was a bit gritty. And beware the water, it is flavored with essence. The little note on the tables mentions the flavor of the day but I expected to be offered plain or flavored. It wasn't bad but it was a little bit of a shock expecting water and tasting cucumber. I'll go back if I'm with other GF friends and we're in the area but it's not worth the drive for a special trip.
I have never been to Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery, I live in Washington State. But it is not easy to bake for everyone so be greatful for what you can have there and that there is people out there trying to fill our needs for gluten free. We have come so far in the last 10 years. Thank you girls, wish you the best of luck.
Great food and service. Only issue is no nutritional menu.
We adore this place! We go EVERY time we go to Tucson. I love love love their breakfast sandwiches with their homemade english muffins! They have awesome biscuits and gravy with their great muffins again. Their french toast is great and their other breakfast items have all been great. We've been going for lunch too and I recently tried their chicken salad - that was awesome, but I love their breakfast foods so much I'll probably stick to that. Their bacon is awesome too - so they're not just a GF bakery, they're a real restaurant. If you go you HAVE TO get a baguette - they are so fresh and to die for, but they usually sell out early in the morning, so get there early! It's better than diner food, but do go and expect high-priced fancy food - that's just not what they do. It's like if your mom made gluten-free baked goods - so fresh, and so well-made, you can tell they put heart into everything they make there! http://celiacandthebeast.com/2012/06/restaurant-review-gourmet-girls-gluten-free-bakery-tucson-az/
Had a breakfast sandwich and would not recommend; Very bland and lack luster. Had a sampling of desserts- again, dry and bland. The bread is very good- probably what I would return for (maybe?)
AMAZING! must try the smores cupcake!!
Thoughtful, considerate, caring. These gals make you feel right at home with gluten-free food made just for you!
Amazing food, very clean, great staff that remembers preferences and allergies, and definitely the greenest restaurant you can go to! I would go every day if I could!
This place is Awesome! Great food, friendly service and good atmosphere! For Gluten free food, it tastes amazingly good and the deserts are a tastebud vacation in paradise!
Very few vegan options available. Despite being an allergy-based restaurant, they seemed to lack knowledge on other food allergies/dietary restrictions. Those of us able to partake in the baked goods were pleased, but regular menu items were not particularly spectacular.
Ahhhhmazing!!! They have everything you could ever want, super friendly staff.
Sandwiches were phenomenal and cupcakes were great! Best gluten free meal I've had in a long time. Fantastic job, Gourmet Girls, we'll be back soon!
Pastries are awesome, hamburger with a bun golden for use celiacs. Anyone that is gluten free this place is a must have. Take and bake pizza was awesome.
Go Go Go - the best bread I've eaten since going gluten-free!!
my favorite - the entire menu is gluten free and delicious!
So amazing! I love my sweets and this place did the trick!
SOFT BREAD. Pastries and cakes. Bakery + restaurant. So happy.
