If you have a gluten allergy or celiac disease, don’t bother coming here unless it’s just to get a glass of wine, a dozen oysters and sit at the bar to view the iconic interior of the restaurant. The waiter was rude to me, refused to walk me through my options, and just said to pick something and I’ll have the chef make it gluten free. I explained that I’ve done that in the past and I’ve gotten heavily modified dishes that ended up being bland and tasteless, so I’d prefer if he could recommend something that didn’t have to be modified or needed little modifications. He refused to do so, but said he thought the Mahi Mahi special would not need many modifications, so I went with that. The dish arrived and I tested it with my Nina gluten sensor and it was gluten free. However, it was over cooked and tasteless with cold, not great salsa dumped on top. I could have made better fish at home doing the same thing for a lot less than $35. To top it off, my husband had asked the waiter to recommend a glass of dry white wine and the one the waiter delivered was very sweet. The waiter never checked on us and we had to flag someone else down to exchange it. I’ll never dine there again. There are way better restaurants that are just as iconic and beautiful with way better food and service.
