Review of Grille At Riverview

The food was good and the ambiance was fitting for the location. However, from a Gluten-free perspective I am sorry to say I have give them an “unacceptable “ rating. I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi that is a regular menu item and is normally served on a bed of rice pilaf with a GFO note on the menu that gluten-free options were available so I informed our waiter that I had to eat gluten-free. When the meal arrived I was surprised that when I took a bite of the fish I saw that there were “remnants” of rice pilaf on the underside of the fish. Apparently the fish had been originally plated on the rice pilaf and then replated on a clean plate for me and the kitchen staff had no understanding of cross-contamination. Also, our water told me I was the first customer he had served that requested gluten-free dining and he asked what that was all about as he wanted to learn. Too bad the restaurant has their menu marked with gluten-free options and the wait staff and kitchen staff are uneducated.
