Our waiter did not appear to have a wealth of knowledge about “gluten free”, was a second language, and initially said the chips swerved at the table was GF, but when I asked about a shared fryer, he confirmed the chips were in fact shared with other breaded items. I played it safe and ordered the Hacienda Chopped Salad without dressing, pepitas and tortilla chips, then added chicken. The salad was tasty, I definitely did NOT leave hungry. PLENTY of salad!

Love the ceviche! It’s got a fun atmosphere
They recently have put together a gluten free menu which has four entree items on it and that's it. I have been told in the past that their chips are gluten free but when I asked most recently I was told that the fryer was used to also fry items made from a combo of corn and flour. I've eaten the chips before and not become ill. I'm severely gluten intolerant and not celiac, however. When I questioned further, the server said there were other items on the menu that could be modified to be gluten free. Their beef is marinated with marinade containing soy sauce and their sauces, with the exception of the tomatillo sauce, are thickened with wheat flour. These would be some of the things to keep in mind to avoid when asking for modifications. Overall I wasn't too impressed because I had to pry this information out of them. They seemed to think that handing me a special menu with four choices was a good enough effort on their part. This is the reason for only 3 stars.
