Update 2023
We ate at Guajillos's on Friday 10/13/23. We were last here in 2015 during another visit to San Antonio. I talked to the waiter and explained that I can have neither gluten nor dairy. He checked with the kitchen to make sure they could feed me safely. It did help that I speak a little Spanish (use google translate if you need to. I do. No shame. Lol) I was assured that the green mole was gf but to avoid the traditional mole. Also, as before, the cochinita pibil with corn tortillas and no cheese was an option. We ordered both! It was so good!!! I don't understand the review from 2019 that only says "No. Just no.," they seem to have a problem communicating clearly with others. Not my problem. I know good food and good people when I find them.
We will eat here again the next time we're in the area. I live right outside Galveston just south of Houston or we'd eat here more often!
Original review below:
Just got back from my 1st visit. Next time I am in San Antonio will absolutely return even if it means going out of my way. The manager came to our table and personally let me know which menu items to avoid. Had the Cochinitas Pibil. One bite and I felt like I'd been transported to the Yucatan! Perfecto! I ate every bite...had to stop myself from licking the plate! I highly recommend to anyone looking for real Mexican food! No Tex-Mex here. Loved it!!!

No. Just no.
The servers are nice however it turns out that they put chicken stock which has gluten in it in every salsa and sauce, including all the entrees.
The staff was very familiar with food ingredients & allergens! The manager verified our order with us & at one point the cook even came out to talk to us as well! Our food was Outstanding! I love my Al Pastor mini tacos & the beans were the best I had while in SA! Also, if you like spicy, you will love their spicy options too! We will definitely be bk next time we visit!
Yes
Mexican food that is really good. Very few menu items have anything with gluten in it. Wait staff can tell you what they are. Mostly flour tortillas are only thing with gluten. Everything made from scratch.
