Loved Han Dynasty! Stopped in on a cold evening and they immediately served hot tea. Nice gf menu nd I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp and noodles with chicken. All the food arrived promptly and was hot! The gluten eating people ordere the crab Rangoon and chicken lo Mein and loved it also! The shrimp were very large size and dry fresh tasting, crispy outer but not dry at all.

We had 3 people share the dishes and still had two meals of leftovers to take home! Not cheap but not crazy upcharge that most places have for gluten free! Maybe my favorite Chinese restaurant!

It kills me to write this review, because HD has been a favorite of mine for many years (prior to discovering earlier this year that I have to be strictly GF) but people need to be aware. Last weekend I ordered from their dedicated gluten-free menu. When the dish arrived, I could tell it had been made normally because I've ordered that dish dozens of times in my pre-GF days. I pressed the staff to confirm that it had been made GF. The server immediately said yes, but then "why, does gluten cause you medical issues or something?" My reaction to being glutened is severe and lasts for weeks, so I spoke with the manager who determined from the chef that the dish had actually been made with, and I quote, "a little bit of gluten". They remade it (it looked completely different), but now I know I can't trust ordering there. It was not busy, there was only one other table of diners. Many of the staff are unclear on what gluten is (even though they have a separate GF menu), there is a language barrier in the kitchen, and there is no gluten free fryer, prep area, or grill/pots/woks. GF diners beware.

Han Dynasty is an East Village staple. With their own GF menu, incredibly complex flavorful dishes you’ll be so glad you stopped in. It can be very hard to eat GF from restaurants that use traditional soy sauce as a staple, but Han Dynasty will work with you and will even cook things that aren’t on the gf menu (highly recommend green beans!) all while giving you a reassuring experience as a customer with specific needs.

This is my second visit in a week. They have a good gf menu and the server was knowledgeable about Celiac. She was very helpful.

The gf menu is online but they can point out options on the main menu.

I had the salt and pepper shrimp which is now one of my favorite dishes there. My girlfriend had the gf cumin chicken w medium spice and that was good as well.

Great place and glad I found this wonderful spot for Szechuan style Chinese food. Oh. They also have good quality gf soy sauce.

Oy vey. I’ve eaten take out from the UWS one (getting the white sauce chicken) so I figured this one would be fine. Thankfully I had eaten the same dish before and so when this one arrived brown (looking doused in soy sauce) the lady who brought it out said it was gluten free but I had a bad feeling. I asked the other waitress and she took it back. Turns out it was soy sauce (yikes). My second dish was safe but idk yall. Be CAREFUL.

Omg this place was amazing! Pretty extensive GF menu and the food is served family style. My wife and I got the seafood soup, crunchy cucumbers, and chicken fried rice and were not disappointed! So excited to find a delicious and reasonably priced Chinese restaurant that is GF!

They have a seperate gluten free menu. Do not think they have seperate area for cooking. I got the Gluten Free chicken fried rice and it was extremely tasty!

I’ve ordered here multiple times and have not gotten sick. They have BATTERED CHICKEN that is GF (they use a potato mix) to give you a typical Chinese “fried chicken” meal. I have not been to the physical restaurant so I can’t say if the menu is separate but on third party delivery apps they have a GF section! A pretty good amount of options. Highly recommend!

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had. They do not have a GF menu, nor a dedicated GF kitchen, but most of their menu can be made gluten free, including all of the fried food.
