The sauce isn't gluten free, but the crust is!! How ridiculous!

I usually go through happy joes in the quad cities area but I wasn’t able to go that far north. Stopped by this location earlier today for dinner, it’s been long enough I know I wasn’t glutened. Wasn’t busy at all, I ordered a gluten free taco pizza and it was great. I know they have cauliflower crust too, not sure if it’s also gluten free, I just ordered gluten free because it’s cheaper that way. Love this chain, they have been doing gluten free crust for years. Not sure what they do for cross contamination since I’m not that sensitive but I have never been glutened by a happy joes.

Not celiac safe. Huge cross contamination risk.

Prior to ordering I saw one of the staff press a pizza crust into the pan and with the same hand, reach into the mozzarella cheese container to top the crust. The cheese was then cross contaminated.

Once I saw this, I didn’t even bother to ask about their safety protocol for their gluten free pizzas.

I have tried their gf pizza twice and both times I have been sick. I won't be trying again. Hope this helps others.

I have had the pizza a number of times, gf and cauliflower. I believe they can also make df. Of course it will never be as good as their regular pizza I’ve liked it. Can’t speak for safety measures as I’ve never watched them make it, although you can if you so choose.

I have had their gluten free pizza many times over the last five years and I have never had a problem. I always ask them to change their gloves and such as I will be super sick if I get any gluten. They always assure me that they are very careful with GF preparation. So far, so good. I will continue to enjoy their GF pizza.
