I called to make a reservation and asked if they could accommodate with any gluten free items, they said NO very emphatically so we didn’t go there

Seafood/sushi restaurant on the water. Cool spot got views but not competent with gluten free! Called the manager before coming and he stated they could accommodate and to just ask the server and they would know. Got there and the server stated they could not do gluten free. Told her about the phone call and she came back stated I can do anything grilled and vegetables or sushi but only with soy paper. I asked why the seaweed wouldn’t be gluten free for her to come back and stated just kidding it’s fine. Very clear they are not educated on it and I was very uncomfortable. I order a very simple roll and asked for a clean knife and area and it came out contaminated with eggs and crunchy bits. The experience was a disaster.
