We used to dine here before it was part of Ichi Umi. I could safely order a variety of rolls that were clearly marked GF. Now their menu has a GF and vegetarian section, with neither marked clearly and the menu we were given was outdated and our server said that things on it labeled GF were no longer Gf. So not helpful! Spicy tuna or any roll with it, not GF. Any roll with a sauce, not GF. Masago, not Gf. They were able to accommodate with a salmon and avocado roll and have GF Tamari, but overall it was a disappointing experience.
— Not very
I would not recommend our specific waiter, never tried the food, but the waiter said this place is not recommended for gluten free. In addition, the waiter was not fully knowledgeable about gluten often times apathetically responding with “maybe” it’s gluten free without offering to find out.
When questioning why an item wasn’t gluten free he seemed to take it personally. Several times he would sarcastically ask loudly to the chef across the restaurant to prove a point, which obviously made for an unpleasant experience to everyone nearby. He also offered to google it for me when I asked about the wasabi.
Overall, it’s possible the food is fine and the waiter was just having a bad day, but I don’t recommend it.
— Not at all
— Gluten-free items are marked on the main menu
The wasabi is not gluten free but they were it on the side even though I said I was GF.
— Separate gluten-free menu
— Most/All
— Good
Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. One of the menus has G’s for gluten free items and they have gf tamari sauce! I had a delicious sashimi sampler!
Yes
They have a separate gluten free menu and the staff was very accommodating. I ordered two delicious sushi rolls with gf soy sauce. The sushi was fresh and I didn’t have any issues after eating it. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in town.
