Definitely not for celiacs or gluten- sensitivity. Very nice waitstaff and a great place to go and relax outside with a glass of wine. They are honest and say that everything in their prep area touches wheat. Also, the potato skins are marked GF but aren't. They are fried.

Super weird experience. Very nice waitress. Lots of items indicated to be gluten free. The waitress was clear that there was no dedicated frier. Ordered a GF sandwich. Waitress came back to make sure I understood I would simply get a pile of meat, cheese and vegis. Soooo... I ordered a salad. Very sad.

Hawthorne's offers a majority of their sandwiches gluten free. Their menu is very clear and specific to which items can be accommodated. Their waitstaff was very knowledgeable regarding gluten free cooking. The bar offered a gluten free beer made by Lakefront as well as some hard ciders.
